Player Voted Emotes

In the 11th Update on Kickstarter Artix slipped in a "stealth" stretch goal. If you guys hit $275K, then we would start taking some suggestions for Player Voted emotes. You CRUSHED that stretch goal so let's talk emotes!

WTF is an EMOTE?!

Maybe you've never played a game like AQ3D before. An emote is a command that makes your character perform a predesignated action. AQ3D already has a few of these commands which you can try out by typing the slash commands into the chat bar and hitting enter.

/comeon

/cry

/facepalm

/fistshake

/mj

/squat

/thewave

/wave

and my personal favorite, /exorcist

But now we want to know what YOU want to see.

Open Call For Emote Suggestions

1. For the next week (until 11 January), you may make your emote suggestions in the comments section of THIS Design Notes post.

2. Once the suggestion deadline has passed, we will sort through them and pick out our favorites.

3. Once we have chosen our semi-finalists, we will open voting to everyone.

4. The 10 most voted on emotes will eventually (it takes time for Korin to animate them) be added to the player emote list in AQ3D

Anyone is free to make a suggestion but please keep your post to THREE emotes in a single comment. Please do no spam the comments to try and get yours seen. Even if we see it, we may not like it enough to put it into final voting.

I highly recommend that you read over everyone else's comments so you don't waste your suggestion on something that somebody else already said. Keep it clean. Be original. Have fun!

Character plants their feet, raises main weapon into the air and then screams( either voice or text depending of how game limits require) BATTLEON!!

/nightwatch

Character pulls out a lantern and then scans the horizon/area as if searching for something.

/doomtaunt

Character adopts an evil confident grin and does the taunt animation from the DF DoomKnight Armor.

Oh, lol too used to responses/reactions to design notes posts being done via the forums.

Thought things were going a little too slow for such a simple contest, other than the scroll through everything thing else.

Kind of Bleh though you can't just use your AQ3D account to post in the comments.

I don't want to make a Disqus account just to make one comment, so I'll post my emotes here, whether they get noticed or not.

/shrug - You know, like DK's down taunt in Smash? Shrugging with just the shounders doesn't look as expressive imho.

/plantweapon or /plantwep - Plant your weapon to the ground, holding it there firmly. [continuous*] Example

/shoulderweapon or /shoulderwep - Pose with your weapon upright, at shoulder level (like /salute in AQW except you hold the pose). [continuous*]


*pose is held until another action is taken

Well, here is mine for all you lovely fourm people to enjoy:

Summon: You make a summoning pose, do mage gestures, and summon a random enemy from the full enemy pool that you then have to fight. It can be any enemy in the game. It disappears when you either die, kill it, or after a certain amount of time so as to not make a ton of them in Battleon or something.

Uses:
It can work like a Battle Monster Button in AQ Classic.
You might get something nice from it without having to leave Battleon, like a Stone Gauntlet drop from a summoned Gagoyle.
Making people wet themselves when you accidently summon a level 100 Sepulchure in the middle of Battleon or something and he goes on a player killing rampage before being pulled back by the time limit.

/swim: Your character levitates in mid-air and attempts to swim freestyle
/handstand: Your character does a handstand
/gangnamstyle: Your character does the Gangnam Style horse dance

/slowclap The epynonymous slow clap, great for applaud and shenanigans alike, no guild group would be complete without the ability to both praise and scorn your team when things go wonderfully right and horribly wrong.
/fistbump And of course the classic Fistbump, for when you and a bud achieve a long sought goal or just see or accomplish something inadvertently cool and/or hilarious
/handsin I've yet to see it in a game but I'd to see it in this one. Nothing speaks to the bonds of a group like allowing them to put one of their hands together with a bunch of other people's hands for some reason.

/thriller (the zombie hands thing)
/mime (in an invisible box or leaning on an invisible wall, whatever)
/pyromancy (blow some fire around, you can probably do one of these for all the elements)
/punt (summon Twilly from your back pocket and kick him away)
