1st Dungeon just Released!

Be the first test out our 1st dungeon-- Barrow Pass! The Outcast Hand is a band of bandits. They look... familiar somehow. As always, we value your opinion and want you to run these things over and over, looking for issues, or generally telling us how you feel about some of our choices.

"I'm Ready!!!" you say? "Let me at em!" as you brandish your awesome weapon "Charge!!!!!"

I'm all for jumping in blindly and swinging away like a crazed warrior, but since this Pre-Beta there may be some things you might want to read first.

Take The Dungeon By Storm...

When running the dungeon you will randomly be placed in an instance with a different group each time (#PreBeta). This will give you a chance to meet new players and help them along their journey. Once we have Party systems in place that will all change, but for now... share the love.

Tovus the Bladedog is incredible strong... strong in strength, and in smell.


I'm In The Dungeon... What Now?

Our dungeons can be all sorts of things, they can be rooms of a tower, parts of a cave, a forest, cloud city, mausoleums, whatever our minds can think up. They can be big in scale or small. There is one thing that each dungeon will have, and that is an objective. The objective could be to defeat all the enemies, or it could be to pull the lever and open the door, or even assemble the statue to open the portal. So if you are playing and the portal to the next cell is not active, then there must be an objective not yet complete.

"Energy" & the Science of Dungeons...

Running a dungeon will require "Energy" (Temporary Name, #PreBeta) Dungeon energy points regenerate at 1 point per 3 hours, real-time. this will allow us to give extremely good rewards from short bursts of play while keeping it fair for people who can only play a little. It will also go a long way to discourage people from 'bot farming" these instanced dungeons. This is a new system, so give it a try and tell us what you think

Now... ONTO THE DUNGEONS!

i vote for it to be called "Fleeting Embarkment Essence" or "FEE" for short

Edit: so is it supposed to lock me out til energy is maxed out again or is this a bug?

I like the new dungeon idea, and I am aware it's a fairly fresh mechanic in this game. There is an area for improvement that hopefully can be done. The dungeon currently lacks a sense of teamwork. I know that the monsters are pretty weak but the issue is that trying to get their drops feels like a race. We have to resort to 'snatching' kills as a result. Therefore, I hope there is a way for players to get drops and rewards from monsters that are killed by others, (provided there are measures to keep it fair such as not rewarding inactive players.) Moreover, the current dungeon lacks an ultimate reward. I feel that it is a good opportunity for players to gain drops from monsters they've missed at the end of the dungeon. The teamwork-factor may be improved as a result. These are just my two cents.

With the bandits and all, I'm getting the nostalgic DF vibe from this map. I'm also glad to see that the game feels more fantasy themed, unlike the mess in AQW. Hopefully that stays consistent.

The staff should implement a Party System with Shared exp and Item distribution or shared drop distribution

So yesterday, I used all 8 energy, and now it's at 5/8. However, I can't seem to go in today? Just gives me an option to refill. Do I have to wait until it's full to enter the dungeon again?

@fxmybrute13, I managed to access the dungeon just fine with my energy being 7/8.

It's actually a bug and has been reported as such.

In other news, the dungeon keeps breaking for me. :(

i should also note that even after the energy gets maxed out the bug remains so until its fixed those of us affected by it are locked out
