Patch Notes - 1.6.70
Balance
  • Lower level players now have an increased chance for First Strike
  • Effective level system for Legendary Ranks has changed. This affects First Strike and Underdog calculations
    • Dev Note: This change should better reflect the fact that the higher Legendary Ranks are not as powerful as early Ranks, stopping the Underdog buff from penalizing higher Legendary players.
    • Old System
      • 10 Ranks = 1 Effective Level (Rank 50 Legendary = Effective Level 45)
    • New System
      • Rank 1-7 Legendary = Effective Level 40
      • Rank 8-19 Legendary = Effective Level 41
      • Rank 20-35 Legendary = Effective Level 42
      • Rank 36-55 Legendary = Effective Level 43
      • Rank 56-79 Legendary = Effective Level 44
      • Rank 80+ Legendary = Effective Level 45

Bandaids won't fix anything. The game will enter in a never ending cycle of buffs and nerfs. Peeps are already asking for a merc nerf.

The real fix that I was searching for is a war sytem fix. But it's not there, because the answer is clear. War system is what pumps cash in the 11 months where gifting doesn't occur. So fixing wars means no more cash from wars. So for them, it doesn't matter if the current cycle of wars gets repeated 20 times, as long as it still pumps more cash. Players' enjoyment can go down the drain.

In the end, all these "bandaids" seems to be due to gifting and delluding gifters into thinking the game will sustain in the future. Devs know that if they want to fix the game, they need much more time and effort (*Hint* ED is 7 years old, can't get fixed in 2 weeks *Hint*), and in AE's 2017 agenda, there isn't much of that for ED, so devs had to come up with something while they were enjoying their new year's holidays away from their desks.

Well, Syfy called them out before gifting has event started.

My posts are usually useful for ED BALANCE. And it's not that they always listen but I'll keep trying because there's no similar game around and I like it's gameplay.

First of all, I have to say the legendary system seems even more confuse, and the NPC legendary points that shouldn't be changed are still not fixed. I still agree that legendary points should only non-PvP features to definitely kill this unnecessary underdog buff. Underdog was never needed before ranks came up, and it wasn't impossible to beat a lvl 40 being a lvl 38+. If it became harder to beat a lvl 40 without being one, it was after legendary system came up. Now legendary system is broke. It's an insignificant and unfortunately necessary buff for a high price. Why necessary? Because underdog is there to obligate you to buy those points. If you don't buy them, you still get weaker as you rank up.

By removing PvP features to rank and consecutively removing underdog, ranks will have optional features that you will choose whether to buy or not, so your credits won't be stuck in a feature that was at first made to boost max leveled players.

Devs should make pools that we could vote before implementing weird changes that usually don't fix anything but makes things even more confusing.

Exactly! This is why i was insisting ED 2 on mobile. Instead of creating games like BB(whose game-play format is pretty common thing on mobile games) They should focus on ED mobile. Even if it takes years, it's worth it.

What "SuperCell's" game Clash Royale is, EpicDuel can be that... one day.

It's funny how my opponents got underdog buff while my partner's set only had half the enhancements. Balance will never be 100% fair.
