Tau -> General Question (3/9/2017 8:01:22)

Just wondering, so why are all of the forums so empty? I'd imagine there would be many people due to the AE fan base?

The Imp -> RE: General Question (3/9/2017 18:03:27)

Aren't most of AE's games kind of dying? I was under the impression it has been that way for quite a while. At least AQ doesn't have a player count active on the homepage anymore, and I haven't been in DF or AQW for ages, and MQ even longer. Dedicated forums are also kind of a dying breed, especially for a company with a relatively small fanbase like AE. It's just easier for people to use Twitter, FB, Discord, Reddit, etc. Sad but it's just the way of things. This place feels almost like a living relic now but I still appreciate it.

You can look at the nostalgic thread over here to see that people seem to still lurk, but everyone's moved on to other forms of communication. The Imp is spot on; dedicated forums that were popular during the 2000s are pretty much dead, replaced by new platforms like Twitter and Reddit. There were days when the forum was vibrant. Look into the Wayback Machine from 2011 and you'll find a very active community. Sometimes I wish I could go back to some of these old threads and see the dumb things I posted.

Wow I really wish I could click on those old posts...

How is AE doing nowadays? I mean its been quite a while since i was last on AQ or anything but the forums still seem to be up.

Its unfortunate since I adored this section of the forums, its sad to see something you love like this die. Just not enough active people and theres really no way to fix it due to like has been said already people have moved on from dedicated forums.
