Well howdy there! Nice to meet you. I also enjoy Dungeon Mastering, and play many games with my family and friends. It's a fun way to tell a story and get engagement from people, as well as to lose yourself in fantasy for a little while. However, this is a play-by-post RP forum. It works a little differently from what you're used to! For example, we don't use stats, dice, or really any numbers in general. Classes, races, and settings are based off of your imagination and creativity, rather than a rulebook or compendium. This also allows you to mess with various rules and restrictions, such as my current RP, Doomwood Rising. It works a little bit like traditional D&D in that you run into encounters and make out of combat decisions, but the success or failure of your encounter is determined by how well you describe your fight rather than how high or low you roll. The main strength of PBP RP is that you have greater flexibility to develop your character, even during critical moments. There's a lot less focus on gameplay and mechanics, which gives you a lot more time to consider how your character feels about combat, or what their life was like before the adventure, and share it with the other players. Good examples are found in the Elemental Championships, where the height of combat and excitement often leads to the most critical character developments.
