If you have two Strawberry Shieldcakes, can you use the same skill once on each of them, during the same turn, to stack their effects?

How would you get 2 of the same shield on one character? By buying it twice?

Thank you.

Tropix: While I haven't tried it personally the staff usually have it coded so you can't use multiples of the same effect. I had the konami code spell and SPell and it wouldn't let me use both at once.

Avenger's/Redeemer's Bulwark

Standard shield with neutral MRM. Shifts elemental resistance based on your Knight kingdom allegiance. By default = Water, Rennd = Light, Stormfallen = Fire, Granemor = Darkness, Deren = Earth. MC effect is similar to the Tank Knight MC. Each attack attempted against you, hit or miss, gives you 1 Defender charge, with each charge being worth 2.5% Melee, due to us assuming 2 hits from the mob per turn on average. The shield can hold up to 100 charges, for a max of 250% Melee. If you have at least 28 charges you can click the shield to lower damage taken from the shield's element by 50% for 1 turn. Mob damage is worth 140% Melee, so 1/2 of that is worth 70%, 70/2.5 = 28, so costs 28 charges.

Yeah, exactly, however, I was thinking there were levels of the item, but if they're level 0 (scale) only, then it's not possible.

Is there a hidden cost associated with the Skoldjr? I believe Primate Murder mentioned to me once that monsters are assumed two hits per round, so a guaranteed block would be worth more than 50% melee.

Unless there's something I'm missing here.

From Kam: Your shields and weapons should now have their skills working!

"Short version, they have two buttons (weapon has a third for the MRM swap), one button toggles your charge mode (Off/Normal/Overcharged), these cost 0%/20%/40% Melee in SP per turn to keep active, respectively. When you attempt a weapon strike (weapon) or your foe attempts a strike (shield) you gain 0/1/2 charges per strike. You can hold up to 15 charges, and the weapon can gain up to 4 strikes of charges per turn. If you hit max charges, then up to 2 further strikes will refund 0%/10%/20% Melee in SP per strike. After that 2nd SP refund the charge mode is forcefully turned off. You can't turn charging back on until you expend the charges.

The other button will fire off a skill, for the weapon this is flagged as a bow attack, for the shield this is flagged as a half damage spell attack (with a further *0.75 damage if your current weapon when using the shield skill is Magic). This skill basically does 100% Melee baseline, and will deal +(10.5 / MagicMult x Charges)% damage. MagicMult is 0.75 if you're using a Magic weapon. Skill follows your current weapon for damage type, and the element of the item that called the skill."

These items are located at Dragonlorn Keep VI.

Paladin Defender

Light shield, has a Melee/Magic > Ranged focus. MC effect on this is that if you're fighting an Undead foe, once per battle (so this effect is worth 50% Melee), you can click the shield to activate a quick-cast EleShield that reduces damage from all elements by -(25/1.4 = 17.86)% damage for 2 turns. Existing copies are 70/90/110/130/150, those have been updated to 90/105/120/135/150, the Lv 70 version is new.

Shouldn't that be 100% melee? Since it's a trigger and all?

LUPUL LUNATIC -> RE: Shields - Read the first post! (10/16/2020 7:18:55)

quote:

once per battle (so this effect is worth 50% Melee)

Its worth in fact 5% melee (usually MC is 5% melee) * 10 (for 10 turns) = 50% melee for once per battle of a MC when MC is 5% melee.
But in this case since it is a trigger and triggers are worth 10% melee not 5% then the once per battle effect should be 10% * 10 = 100% melee not 50%.

Haunted Dragonlord's Will

Wind shield, Magic > Melee/Ranged focus. MC effect is skill compression allowing you to click the shield to spend a base value of 100% Melee in SP to apply a Chi Shield to yourself. This basically works like Shard of the Covenant, casting a fake healing spell on you = to 100% Melee, with a -15% penalty due to it auto-hitting, and a -10% penalty due to it being always useful (SotC burns your turn, so you have to keep the shield equipped, hence it doesn't need the -10% penalty on that, but it is needed here), the value the spell would've healed gets recorded, and the shield will then block <HealAmount> HP worth of damage. This item also has diminishing returns when used multiple times in a single turn, the first time it's used per turn, it gets a 5% base SP cost discount, each time it's used after that in the same turn, it costs +25% of base SP cost. So it starts at costing 95% Melee in SP, then goes up to 120% Melee in SP, then 145% Melee in SP, etc.

um isn't this set supposed to be this year's legendary mastercraft set? don't they usually have set bonuses? I don't see any mention of a FSB or even partial set bonus on any of the new items.

Lv 1000 -> RE: Shields - Read the first post! (11/8/2020 12:19:41)

After testing we've concluded that the FSB for the set is *likely* funneled into the SP/MP healing that is received from the MC effect on the weapons.

Kamui -> RE: Shields - Read the first post! (11/20/2020 15:26:31)

Doomlight Eternal/Shadowspark Defender

Darkness/Energy shields. MC effect is a +10 potence to the Backlash status, and the shield also takes a -6 MRM penalty (already factored into the numbers below) to apply a Backlash that strikes back for (20/1.4)% of the damage you take. Scales, with lowest level being PowLv 59, sample numbers below. The Backlash potence is low due to the fact the shield itself also applies Backlash. When in the full Doomlight set of the same element as the shield, the potence on the shield triples to +30.

Shiba -> RE: Shields - Read the first post! (11/23/2020 3:07:58)

Many items have a +20 Potency towards a status as their MC. This is worth 5%. Usual FSBs are worth 10% if I remember correctly.

Isn't Doomlight's current FSB a bit weak in this light?

silverhook1003 -> RE: Shields - Read the first post! (11/23/2020 4:40:44)

Eclipsed Dragonlord's Will / Haunted Dragonlord's Will
Despite the fact that this one doesn't synergize with the rest of the wind set regarding the SP, it's interesting to note that you can use both shields at the same time. You can get stack HP from both shields since while the SP cost from one shield increase after each use, the other shield SP cost starts from the lowest point as well. (372 SP).
edit: In the end, you get some more HP for the amount of SP you could get using only one shield.

2021 Calendar Promo item: Draco Cryo Chrono Shield. Kam says:

MC Ice shield.

MC: When you block an attack, there's a [hits blocked]/[hits connected] * 10/21 chance of Paralysing the monster for 1 turn. The monster can resist with a save at a +0 bonus (inflict with DEX/LUK; resist with END/LUK). Vs Dragons/Dragonkin/Drakels, the effect chance is *1.1 normal potency, so 11/21 base, vs anything else, the effect is *0.95 normal potency, so 9.5/21 base.

New reward for Twitch streams: Valiant Hero Shield. Kam says:

Light version of the new Ironthorn shield. Gives good Light resistance, and has Melee > Ranged > Magic MRM priority. MC effect is misc compression that gives you a STR boost while active. SP cost of this is x2 of what it would normally be since it's not on an actual misc slot. Since it scales like a token package item, it gets a -1 discount on the SP cost which is already factored into the numbers below. Scales like a token package item, a Lv 1 character actually gets a Lv 11 power level, so the Lv 5 version shown is just there as a baseline. The stat boost and SP cost component do not scale between tiers, they just tier up when you hit the right power level.
