XeNON_54 -> Rarity and Item Quality (6/8/2017 9:34:03)

I've noticed that the Wiki regards the colors as Rarity-tags instead of Quality-tags.
Is there a reason for this?

I mean there's Junk, Common, Uncommon, Awesome, Epic and Legendary.
Aren't these Quality types rather than Rarity types?

Rarity should be Rare, Seasonal, Event, etc.

There really should be separate tags for each of them.

AE has a weird interpretation for "rarity" in their games. It just kind of stuck throughout the years haha

Hi there XeNON_54.

The wiki refers to the colors as rarities because AE has officially referred to them as rarities (as can be seen in the Patch Notes, 05/27/2016. I also remember there being a DN by Cysero either on artix.com or aq3d.com talking about the colors and referring to them as rarities, but I can't seem to find it).

As for tags, the wiki does have tags for each rarity. The wiki has automatically-updating item lists for each rarity, which can be found here.

OP has a good point. They should be referred to as quality instead of rarity. The whole thing about the word "rare" has a specific definition that this game doesnt use. Rare should at least mean "harder to obtain", not "Not in the game currently". Also the categories have a problem too. We have "junk", "common", "uncommon", "awesome", "epic" and at some point "legendary" I assume. One of these words is a completely different word. Guess which one AND guess what word usually goes there. So we do have an issue and we really do need a change in the language, IMO.
