What would it take to finally bring this woman down to her knees, and actually submit? A passing thought, as he gave chase as the Death Rose leapt down to the lower platform. She can't afford any chance to stay in a close encounter; why should he allow it? Once more, he flicked his sparking rapier, as this time he went for a debilitating blow. That is, if an unexpected surprise didn't finally rear its ugly head towards him. Once his boot slammed down on the stone gold platform, the floor grew black, with tendrils grabbing him around the leg, forcing him to stay in the pool. He quickly grabbed his Book of Astronomy to return the favor with tendrils of his own... until his vision isntead shown something far worse. Golden light and clouds suddenly surrounded him, normally a safe haven for the purest of hearts. Yet, he was not pure of heart. A blue-skinned man appeared before him, spear standing center. Feathered black wings of death enveloped him, as a dusty brown robe hanged loosely form his waist. Words, heard in Michel's own mind, were transplanted, those of harsh accordance to the laws of divination. "Price is to be made for those who dare steal from the very messengers of the gods themselves. Michel, punishment is now." What is the meaning of this? Surely he done no wrong! And... why was he in here to begin with? He was in the arena beforehand, why was a simply pool of black able to just send him here? As the messenger raised and pointed his spear downwards to perform the execution, Michel snorted, and said outloud. "You think mere illusions can keep me in place? Folly. Death Rose, I have something far worse... something that would cripple you instead." As everything came back to normal and slowly lifted himself up from apparently being sunk momentarily, he raised his tome, as darkness began to surround him instead. To others, he seem to turn into something else. Something far more monstrous than normally allowed. A black dragon of twilight burst into the scene, roaring, gaze piercing directly into the so called Death Rose. Yet to Michel, it was just yet another trick. Now it is time to see if his opponent can see through the trick... or suffer a fate well-suited to her, thinking she is almighty but instead a fool who thinks they know anything of planning and combat. Come Death Rose, will your final moments be now?
