.Lord Ginger. -> Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 0:54:15)

Plain and simple. We don't need 15 people who aren't founders having this.
2 years ago the #1 spent a lot of money to get a Founder Armor, let's not let 15 other people get that.

Xendran -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 1:24:33)

I really don't like the idea of a bunch of active people just running around with Founder armor out of nowhere.
You see maybe 2-3 sets of founder armor in a day right now. If even half of the people get it, you suddenly have 3-4x the amount of active players you see with it.
I don't mind some other items (although I still think it's a terrible idea), but Founder Armour is extremely iconic.

leo07123 -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 13:05:10)

I'm not in favor of this, because at the end wish is a wish and after spending a ton of varium and coming in the list of top 15 should definitely worth it. They must be allowed to get any of the item they wish to irrespective of the fact that should not dis-balance the game. And getting founder armor doesn't alter game at all.

Design notes say “nearly any item”, which founder should be excluded. People spent thousands last year and got a yeti morph if they didn’t win.

Founder was a #1 prize a few years ago, why should people who aren’t #1 be able to get founder? At least make it
To where the #1 is the only person to get founder if he/she wants it

leo07123 -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 13:14:49)

I understand your concern but I feel there is no such issue of giving Founder Armor since it's merely an armor that's with few people and even if they are giving out to somebody especially to the top 15 would definitely worth doing. Otherwise, staff has to mention "no items" can be considered as wish. So there is no concern even if they allow top 15 founder armor. Irrespective that they wouldn't give founder armor together with founder achievement.

There’s definitely a concern. It’s called devaluing rares.

Also “nearly every item”

I’m sure most people would take up founder armor and frankly that’s just not okay

Xendran -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 16:57:22)

Turning an iconic piece of gear into generic stuff you see 10-15 of every day at central due to the extremely low population of this game is just a terrible idea.
I'll likely never wear founder armor again after this update goes through, because it will become one of the most common armors in Central w0.

Ironic that people will ask for Founder armor because its 'rare' and 'stands out', and yet they'll all inevitably show it off in central and all look like each other.

racing.lo.mas -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/22/2018 20:55:38)

Well I understand you all but wait, you really think everybody will go for the founder armor? hmm I'd prefer beta/gamma promo since they came with more items. Anyway Im not fan of giving old stuff to players, even if they are old. You missed it? Then why would you be able to have a new chance.
In my opinion giving a wish for 15 players its crazy, this wish should be only for the winner. I don't know if it was well thought by them, but now its to late to go back with they word-

leo07123 -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/23/2018 0:52:09)

See each and every ultra rare / rare will remain iconic whether its a Founder Armor or Delta Armor but that doesn't make anything common because only 15 players are getting this. Even if everyone gets it there is hardly any issue with it. If you say don't give founder armor then similarly I can say this that don't give anyone Bionic Battlegear coz it's rare and will become common. Nevermind very frankly speaking I'm not in favor of your thoughts because that doesn't make any sense to think regarding founder armor should be given or not.

Xendran -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/23/2018 21:41:30)

Comparing bionic battlegear to founder armor shows a disconnect between the way you think, and the value that the majority of gaming communities place on truly iconic pieces of gear (as opposed to random rares that have shown to not be highly desired).

This game regularly has 100 or fewer players on, with the majority of active players congregating in a single room. The average number of founder armor sets in this room at any given time is likely to go up by at least 500% after this gifting event.

I'd be incredibly surprised if Founder armor doesn't become the most commonly seen set of armor at Central W0 (with 5+ gifters wearing it, and everyone else in random armor sets that they like the appearance of).

8x -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/24/2018 7:31:49)

^All the mods now get the founder too, so there is that as well. lol

Mr. Delector -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/24/2018 8:43:01)

Deleted.

Battle Elf -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 18:08:44)

Are there any other items you guys think shouldn't be able to be obtained by the 15 wishes?

NDB -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 18:26:58)

I really don't think any of the past phase weapons (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta) should be allowed either, except for the first place.

Emperor_Blitz -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 18:43:58)

"As a compromise, we've decided to exclude Founder Armor from the potential wish items for all but the #1 gifter." according to the new DNS

NDB -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 18:59:51)

Yeah, I saw that. The reason I think the phase weapons should be off limits too is because they were also first place prizes in previous gifting events. The people who won them then would feel totally ripped off.

racing.lo.mas -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 19:12:32)

The winner could create the founder armor as his custom item adding just small modifications? Just wondering cause he/she would have 20 codes for their friends lol.

NDB if phase weapons weren't allowed on prizes then which item would you get? lol
I mean there aren't many options left and the 14 players would all go for the same item. If you allow all phase weapons, some players would go for alpha mutating, others for the sword, another player would choose beta, and so on. If you reduce the weapons, all players would go for the same prize since they wouldn't have many options. All would go for frost destroyer for example, making its value go down. The reason why they took founder armor was that, to prevent 14 players getting it.

NDB -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 19:20:13)

There are still plenty items to get. Taking away the phase weapons removes about 5 choices.

Besides, you don't have to get an item at all. Its called a "wish", not a free item. You can get your own personal hairstyle, achievement, or whatever, that are actually unique (no one else in the game would have).

I just don't think it's fair that phase weapons were #1 prizes in previous years and now anyone in the top 15 can get them.

racing.lo.mas -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 19:27:51)

Of course is not fair, but you know, nobody would spent all that money for another prize.

InFlamed Fury -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 20:49:53)

This might be unfavoured by many, but how about you can receive promotional gear only in the phases that your character has been apart of.

For example, anyone who had their character in Delta can get the Delta and Omega Gear, but cannot wish for the Gamma, Beta, Alpha or Founder Gear.

Seeing as we were all given the phase achievements from when our characters were created, players will be unable to lie about which Phase they started playing in.

racing.lo.mas -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 21:25:04)

That would have more sence in mi opinion. Great idea.

PD -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/29/2018 23:38:17)

Not that I think many of us are around anymore (I might truly be the last of my kind!), but I think as long as someone has the Founder Achievement they should be able to get the armor. Keep in mind that there were many of us with the Founder Badge whom didn't get the armor because back then we didn't have the money to pay $35 package instead of the $20 Package. I don't plan to participate in the contest but I wanted to be on record to say that not even all the Founders have the armor and if there are any like me, they should still be able to get it.

I truly hope I am not the last of my kind! Founders without Founder Armor Unite!

NDB -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/30/2018 0:53:56)

@PD Yeah, I agree, that would be fair.

x ts -> RE: Don't allow founder armor to be a wish (11/30/2018 16:51:58)

IMO if I won I would save my wish for something else. Remember, #1 gets both a wish and a custom item[along with 20 codes]. I like founder armor, but I mainly like the style. I would rather use my custom wish on the founder armor to make it more to my taste[I mean what's stopping winners from doing this? which would be a even bigger booboo than 15 people getting the armor(assuming all 15 want it) since there would be 20(21?) copies] or even ask to see if I can get my own completely designed/ requested armor; now since I also share the same sentiment about being unique, my codes will probably sit and collect dust for all eternity lol.

Furthermore, a issue that I can see that may seem to be a bigger issue than having more than a welcomed number of iconic item wielders, but no one has pointed it out is whether or not there should changes/rules/exceptions/additions implemented by the devs as the gifting reaches certain points of money spent.

I've never stay around for gifting, so I'm not sure how much people spend on gifting every year; however, my point is whether or not the rules/rewards for the top 15/ top 3 etc should change as the average/overall amount of money spent by the top 15 increases in order to make the rewards more worthwhile in direct correlation to amount spent. Maybe add stretch goals that change the rules/rewards of the contest as the amount spent/gifts sent out increases? I imagine the reason for only 1 custom item is because of the amount of time/money needed to do so.

ps: I've also been playing since closed beta, but couldn't buy the founder armor mainly as I was a kid and I think ED didn't accept AE prepaid cards yet.
