This armor was unneededly changed when the new "basic" armor came out and frankly it doesn't look as good or have the old taste that it used to.

Yeah, the old version looks a lot better. Classic armor is smooth and shiny and really simplistic, which meshes so well with the banana. Maybe they could make a new version of the armor called Classic Banana Suit if they don't want to outright revert the appearance of the current one.
