[image]https://cms.dragonfable.com/df/images/EXALTIAWEAPON5dn.png[/image]

Head over to the Inn at the Edge of Time to ascend the next floors of the Exaltia Tower!

In other news, Chaosweaver is coming along! The groundwork has been laid out, and several skills have been coded. The class mechanic, Soulthreads, is looking to be quite strategic.

As a mostly offensive class, Chaosweaver will have somewhat limited access to defensive skills. You'll need to build up Soulthreads in order to use your defensive abilities- and when you use one, all of your Soulthreads will be consumed. However, these defensive skills will be very powerful as a result. Your ability to succeed as a Chaosweaver will revolve aroudn being able to properly judge when to use your Soulthreads- and when to take a hit.

Riftwalker has been updated today as well.

  • Rift Cutter now starts at 50, decreasing by 5 each turn. (Previously started at 25, decreasing by 5)
  • Final Blow resets Rift Cutter to 50, but now does additional damage per missing Rift Cutter stacks.

These changes should bring it more in line with the other Atealan classes.

after getting Doomknight, I FINALY cleared the first part of the Exalted tower, yay! (but technomancer REALLY got me close, but man, Ezrajahl is the worst...) And cleaned the Spire of creation with necroparagon, what do you guys reccomend for the Reliquary? Necro seems to do fine, but is there anything better considering the boss have way too much immobility to bet on a stun of any kind (except necro's inner terror).

Edit: Yay, necro Paragon FTW! I beat The Wardeon on my first try, and DAMN, I loved the sound effects, his screaming attack actualy made me wish he would use it again and again xD Also, special thanks to Nythera and Artix, my go-to guests for it, Artix's burst dmg is invaluable and so is Nythera's utilities. Now on to the archives!

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:07:16)

Boring answer but DmK works for pretty much everything. I just used it to beat the latest level of the tower and it was fine for me at all the previous levels too.
Plus with DmK you do so much damage that debuffs don't hurt you as much. I find that when using DmK I don't ahve to pay attention to my enemies rotation as much.

As a tip with DmK: you should be more willing to sacrifice HP when you have to pick during the towers. You can recover HP with life carve and baby dragon but there is no efficient way to recover MP and DmK is pretty MP reliant.

If you don't want to use DmK then this fight requires sustain. The enemies don't do a lot of damage. I think PDL would be a good option though I haven't tested that yet.

ergotth -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:11:50)

I know, for that I rely mostly on auto attack, which is already hefty, then I trust Artix and Nythera will do the burst dmg to end the enemy. Worked like a charm on the atrium since I have the dragon scythe to switch elements and capitalize on weaknesses. (some years ago I made a campaign to get EVERY POSSIBLE ELEMENT possible in my inventory, best decision of my life xD) But for the archives I think I'll try Techno*, even with necro, the guards and sentries aren't giving me an easy time. And I have to see the boss first to measure what class I use! Gosh Darn it!

*especialy since it got a multi-hit stun, so it's easier to get it right with the 50 immo on the monsters.

Flabagast -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:26:17)

I can't remember whether this has been said already but it'll be a little sad when the Apex is released, as we'll have no more of this awesome peek at what the Exalted were like. Then again Tier 6 will most likely be the most powerful weapon in the game for a while, so we'll have that to hold on to!

ergotth -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:29:54)

Would be fun if after that, they make a reversed version where we go down a hellish abyss. Even though the tower have both celestials and infernals, it's all too angelic, we could have a more infernal-looking version with some really nasty eldrich beasts for us.

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:30:51)

Will it? The current tier is necro paragon level. So the next tier would be UBLoD level. And the Doom weapons will also be upgraded to that level as well so we will have 3 weapons on that tier. Element switch is also a niche thing that is good for the bear fight but not much else.

ergotth -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 0:36:29)

I like the element switch mostly to always be ready with weaknesses without having to carry too many weapons in my inventory and switch all the time.
Also, I reached Daatael, and OMG was it necessary to have her recall the guards, Verly? I request a nerf on that xD

Glais -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 1:36:26)

Have yet to beat a single floor of the Tower, but I love everything yall are doing with them. The art, music, story (assuming this is from the Inn's book), it all just works so well. The level of challenge feels fair and I don't find myself feeling frustrated or cheated when I lose to the boss, there's just something about the area that's oddly satisfying. Maybe one year I'll beat it lol but it won't be any time soon.

TFS -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 2:17:32)

Another great release. The Exaltia Tower releases we've gotten this year are among the best in the entire game from both an art and gameplay perspective, and this week's installment didn't disappoint. As someone else said, it's almost sad that the tower only has one more floor, though all good things must come to an end. As I've said in previous Exaltia Tower threads I love the designs of the Exalted; both beautiful and terrifying, they very much resemble actual biblical angels in a manner you don't see in too many forms of media. It's very evident that these monsters were designed with a lot of research and a lot of love, and Daatael is no exception.
Something that's been discussed on other platforms that I thought might be interesting to discuss here is the idea of going through the entire tower as a single quest with no breaks, once the final floor is released. A few people I've spoken to have noted that Daatael isn't quite as strong as the bosses of previous floors and think that this might be something that's planned for a future release as a result; he's not particularly threatening after you've made four changes to his stats, but that could be because he's intended to be fought after sixteen changes in a future release. Food for thought, but likely just overanalysis.

And the Doom weapons will also be upgraded to that level as well

Is this confirmed? I thought it was intentional that the Hero stopped upgrading the Doom weapons after Caitiff was created.

HORRIOR -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 3:42:33)

Do the little helpers in the boss fight resurrect if you kill them? Cant seem to kill the big guy even with DmK.

ergotth -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 3:46:48)

I found Technomancer the best class for the Archives. The Drill stun is reliable since it's a multi-hit, it got a nice bunch of burst dmg skill, a very strong heal, a shield...

The boss's 'winds of change' attack revives them.

Dratomos -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/7/2019 5:13:15)

I've been enjoying these Exalted Tower updates very much and I'm also bit sad if Apex level will be last. The artwork is so great in those monsters and lfloors and these feel so different compared to the rest of the Challenge Fights. Weapons and those Wings also are good-looking.

For me, the fourth floor was surprisingly challenging. But not in a annoying way. Technomancer was also better class than Eternal Epoch or Doom Knight for me in this floor. Whereas Epoch or Doom Knight requires you to have good choices along the way, Technomancer doesn't.

Is this his gimmick? What happens? I'll be honest I never paid attention to what he was doing.

He switches between a Good/Evil offensive/defensive phase every 5 turns, similar to the Unraveler. The most noteworthy part of the fight is that he coinflips between having two Guards or two Sentries as his minions when encountered, similar to how the Antechamber coinflips between Ezrajal and Yaphael. Guards are significantly more threatening than Sentries, as the Celestial Guard tries to 'loop' (doesn't have a rotation but the duration outweighs the roll) -50 All on you, meaning that each time you encounter Daatael there's a 50% chance of the fight being fairly easy and a 50% chance of it being more in line with other Exaltia bosses.

Have anyone beaten That with any non-DmK or Epoch class? I have notice that Infernal Guard Pull heals him and the boss so is best to at least take out the Infernal one

I've used ChronoZ and BSW, people I've spoken to have used Technomancer and all three Atealans.

woah these monster do look amazing. now i am motivated to start climbing this tower, but first i must level up some. well more like a lot

I used Pirate along with Artix and Nythera(and pet dragon). Pirate plunder skill is very useful to stay at full health/mana before the boss fight(you will not be needing those potions later though). Using potions outside of battle heals your guests too(both hp and mp).

    :]

Technomancer is your best choice. And during your first turn, stun Celestial Centry and defeat it after that, since it can apply -50 All to you. That is much more annoying than the Infernal Guard's healing.

Also, use your Dragon's shield, if Daatael applies itself "Infernal Wind".

EdyMaster -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/9/2019 2:30:41)

I need to do all the floors, I haven't done any but I always found this challenge very interesting and beautiful.

I liked RW getting a buff, it seems like he really needed this to be a glasscannon indeed. I hope my Crypitc also gets a small buff on the Illusionary Veil skill as it gets an indirect nerf with the crit calculation change.Plis Verlyrus.

edit: the Chaosweaver news ... I knew this would happen as soon as I spent my precious DCs that I kept for so many years. It's been 5 years since the announcement of the class project? Maybe 6 years? Ever since I heard about it, I had already thought of reserving my DCs for this class at all costs. The years went by and we only had the hype and bored predictions that the class would come "soon". None of this was true ... until I recently (10 days ago) spent some of my DCs on "dragon snacks". Karma got me. If I had known maybe I would have done it earlier and the class would come a few years earlier for everyone.

LordKnight01 -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/9/2019 3:41:01)

It's the easiest challenge compared to another floors. Mini boss is nothing and boss doesn't hit hard. I beat this challenge quite easily by RiftWalker.

Eragon Dragus -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/9/2019 23:32:39)

Daatael is definitely my favorite monster design of the whole tower. Very abstract I would say. Love that candle head reading a book.

After the recent 2 weapon upgrades alternating between good and evil elements, the last Ultima weapon should allow you the freedom to switch elements to your desire, at least that's what I think.

dragon_master -> RE: =DF= September 6th Design Notes: The Exaltia Tower: The Archives (9/10/2019 8:40:54)

This boss is clearly harder than Ezrajal, who by the way is easier than Yaphael. The weakest boss is still the Warden, followed by Couerihem.
