My suggestion is to allow primary weapons to swap between the 2 modes, sword mode and mutating weapons mode, for example: sword swap to mutating weapon mode= -10 damage, allows use of all skills. The purpose of this suggestion is to allow all weapons to be used. (if you like sword you can use it regardless of build)

Supported. Maybe they should extra stats on sword to encoruage players to use them.
