badguts -> Beastmaster Build (9/11/2019 22:39:47)

Started a 3rd character (non guardian) to be able to play when i hit my caps on my main and i'm wanting to do a beastmaster build. Took a look in the guides section but didn't see one for this particular build so hoping people might have some tips.

My basic plan so far:

Skills - 250 Charisma/ 250 Dex / 250 Luck - Would this be a solid build or is there a more optimal one? Main damage will be coming from pets and guests; so it might be beneficial for me to build tank with endurance and do a defensive setup and use ranged weapons for support.

Subrace - Would Neko be the best subrace for this build? From what i understand Mages go vamp, Melee goes werewolf, and hybrid goes werepyre. Neko seems to have some decent synergy with pets/guests.

I would suggest 250 Cha/Dex/Mainstat. While Luck is somewhat useful in giving +10 to your saves, not having any points in MainStat (Str or Int) would leave you frustrated over what to do on your turns, as well as leaving a certain lack of versatility.

Sol Neko is, indubitably the best subrace for defensive beastbuilds. It gives a passive bonus to pet/guest damage and accuracy, has a Cha toggle, a Cha-using offensive skill, Burn/Bleed toggles for your beasts, sp regen and a really good Cataclysm skill that makes your pets and guests do +100% damage for one round.

There are two weapons that can directly help your beasts - Foam Finger (Snugglefest rare) with an sp-costing beast damage toggle, and Fresh Astracenae which sarifices player damage for beast damage. Otherwise, I would suggest weapons which inflict DefLoss/EleVuln effects, as well as the ones with Burn or Bleed (to stack neko's togglable effects).
