Does the Spell Boost apply after switching out of the armor?

The boosts from armors are only applied when the armor is equipped, it doesn't last between switching.

The only exceptions are the imbue skills (Defender of Frostval Past, Mason Form).

These aren't exceptions. Imbues inflict a status directly onto the player which means they last based on the duration. No armor-based effects last outside of the armor itself.
