Just a little curious about just how the mechanics of the stat boosts it invokes. I understand that at 150 it gives roughly a 12% damage boost, but how does the bonus STR add to that. Or rather, What is the general damage bonus the Misc gives as a whole? Also while I'm thinking about it, how much bonus BTH does the extra 35 STR give?

It will give you 35*3/40 = 2.625 = +2.6 BTH

38.5*35/200 = 6.7375% from Str's stat damage, 2.625 BtH and 95/85 modifier, assume 100% melee and 83% accuracy from 200 Str/Dex/Luk build.
106.7375*85.625*95/(83*85) = 123.0677% melee - 100 = 23.0677% melee.
