does upgrading gg items to level 0 just make them scaleable? for example if i got a guardian upg and the dmg would be of a 136
i dont have to worry about the weapon showing the low numbers in the inventory/shields showing the actual defenses?

Yea! You don't have to worry, especially if you can doublecheck the numbers on your armours and shields by hovering over your character for stats. There's usually a message that pops-up for weapons and such that it is a scaling item and it does check for your character's level.
