My main character is currently at level 89, and soon level 90. If the level cap is ever raised again, will my character keep experience gained while at level 90? And if my character gets enough experience to reach a theoretical level 91 will my character automatically level up? What if my character has enough experience to gain multiple theoretical levels above 90? Will my character attain theoretical level 92(or 93, etc.) if my character has gained enough experience while at level 90 to do so?

It will not keep. Exp earned on 90 will be reset,and getting to levels that are past 90 at this point is next-to-impossible, although a few particular players have managed it.

1)you will keep getting EXP after lvl 90

2)im not sure if you are talking before or after the cap is raised cuz it splits here so

2.1)before the lvl cap is raised above 90 (the current situation) you will need 2,000,000,000 EXP to lvl up and will stop getting exp when you reach 1,999,999,000 meaning that you currently cannot get to lvl 91 unless you find a creative way to do so.

2.2)if and when the cap is raised assuming you have earned enough exp to lvl up from 90-91 you will automatically lvl up the next time you gain exp.

3)even if you have enough theoretical exp to get to lvl 93 or even 100 you will instead go from 90-->91 with 0 exp

4)a few months ago some one hit lvl 91, it took years of hitting the daily EXP cap every day... it was also the reason you stop gaining exp right before that 2B mark

Kinda sorta. Your overflow exp will be kept when the level cap is raised, but will be reset to 0 upon leveling up. That means you'll immediately be raised to level 91, but no further, even if you have enough experience to theoretically get you to a higher level.

This used to be theoretically possible, with the emphasis on theoretically. There are now mechanics to prevent this from happening and the one person who legitimately did this had his character manually reset to level 90 by the developers.

Thank you all for your help! It makes sense though that they wouldn't want EXP to count for more than 1 level when the cap is raised. Otherwise some people would always be at the max level.

i think it's more of how the code works rather than doing in intentionally, even if you are lvl 54 missing 100 exp to lvl and you finish a fight that gave you 2000 you will lvl up to 55 and start the count from 0 rather than 1900. not to mention that the cap is usually only raised by 5-10 lvls so if you are dedicated enough you could hit the new cap within a few days meaning it's also not about delaying players
