Kurtz96 -> Crit damage multiplier and damage values (2/10/2020 23:35:30)

Chaosweaver has a crit multiplier of 185%, and I am using the soul forged weapon with a flat damage (so I always deal the same damage). Without using any skills, I deal 78 damage per hit on the normal attack. So using the crit multiplier I should deal 78 x 1.85 = 144.3 damage.

But I am doing 158 crit damage instead. So where is the extra damage coming from?

INT also increases your crit damage by (INT/10)%. Even if you don't have any INT trained you can still get it from gear.

That character (not the one under my profile, an alt) has 259 INT from build and gear but there is no way that translates to the values I am getting.

I checked the stats guide and it said add the INT boost into the base multiplier.

If the extra damage is added into the multiplier: 78x(1.85+0.259)=164.5, not 158.

Your STR is also going to affect the damage you do on non-crits, but the STR multiplier doesn't affect the base value used when calculating crit damage. The value that's getting multiplied by the crit modifier is lower than 78 if your character has any STR.

Taking STR into account got me the right number. Thanks!
