J9408 -> Dread Fiend of Nulgath comparison to Grimlord and Carnage (2/13/2020 21:26:25)

My character is a Neko Beastmaster.

It has a MC of +5% extra damage. How does the damage compare to Grimlord?

The backlash seems higher than Carnage. How does the Backlash compare to Carnage?

I already have Grimlord and am wondering if it is worth the buy.

As an FD build, a backlash guest automatically becomes only 80% as efficient (because you take *0.8 damage). Add in the fact that Dread Fiend requires a save, and I'd say it's slightly inferior to the other 2 options.

Carnage backlash gains the same *0.8 FD penalty, it gives only 27% extra weapon damage and deals no damage by itself.

Grimlord, on the other hand, has a consistent 60% melee damage boost for a total of 120% melee, making it by far the best darkness guest available for FD beastmasters - but with the understanding that it only covers one element unlike the Essence.

Basically, get Essence if you're short on slots, otherwise keep the Grimlord.

.85(32*5.59+11.098*1.25*16.25)/151 is the modifier for Backlash, 85.7% of that at a standard save is 97.522 damage at Lv 150G.
A standard attack from Dread Fiend is .85((54+107*.5)+(12.48525*1.25*12.5))= 257.195 damage.

The backlash is 97.522/257.195 *100 = 37.918% of the damage of a Standard Guest attack, which is very weak.
