Calendar classes are promotional classes , we paid for the calendars not the class . But paid classes are not excused . They have been nerfed TRUE , but when you release it and say its the finished version not an alpha test ! They realeased it IT HAD A good amount of time for feedback , THEN they released it , from this point all who paid for class paid knowing what the class IS . I didnt pay to get it changed because they cant figure a Weekly challange that can be fair for all classes.
I repeat a thing that you evade to answer WHY DK COULD have 2 versions? also paid armor , also reworked for a 2.0 but people got to keep for what they paid DK V1.0 !

BluuHorseOfficial -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 7:20:53)

DoomKnight got two versions because it got a complete and total rework, and people begged for it to not go rare, and the Developer team was different and succumbed to said people such as yourself more easily due to a lack of necessity for balance in that age.

Pelly2500 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 8:07:26)

I have an idea for what time shift should do!
Now that the final skill has given U Epoch the ability to play differently based on how much momentum you use it makes a little more sense to have lower momentum (if you want a defensive final). With that said I think time shift should alter the double turns of epoch just like in its other variants.
I think time shift, when used, should switch the double turns mechanic such that U Epoch gets double turns if it is at 3 momentum or below at the start of the turn. Then using it again would revert it back to original, acting as a toggle. I think this would give more reason to have low momentum and help the class be more dynamic, you could switch between keeping low or high momentum.

Zeldax -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 8:12:31)

Items are always subject to change as the game progresses. Just because you paid for something doesn't mean it will never be changed. Stop feeling entitled just because you paid for something. As the days/weeks/months/years go by, there will always be updates to the game. You can't expect something to stay the same while everything around it changes. Either that thing becomes too good to have to the point that it makes everything obsolete, or it gets left in the dust as new items get released.

San Robin -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 8:15:54)

Locking this thread for the time being. Calm down for a bit to get to your senses.
I will be deleting and editing posts before opening it up again.
See this as your first and final warning to stay civil.

Editing and deleting is done for now. Do keep in mind that some of you may still hear from either me or another mod with follow-up actions.
My warning to stay civil is still in effect, if the squabbles start up again I will take action.

Dratomos -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 9:47:36)

Thanks to @TFS for tip, didn't think that Reaver would also ignore my All resistance on stuns as well. The duo is hard, but I also managed to defeat them with Kathool Adept and Hero's diet. The only tips I can give are that you should have Immobility over 100 when Reaver is still alive and use classes that hit only once on their big attacks (like Kathool Adept).

mahasamatman -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 12:34:15)

I hate those challenges that can only be hit on specific turns, while certain abilites are/aren't activated, with a specific number of hits, while you're holding a particular kind of fruit on a snowy Tuesday.
Just let me hit the darned enemy, for sanity's sake.

Another Thorn in my side is challenges where you get NOTHING from defeating the individual parts, and have to upgrade to an actually functional version with an item from the Duo, and until then the drops from the individuals are just rocks sitting in your backpack.

Auhuygaqwehai's T1 nuke having a super BTH on top of the damage is kinda ridiculous, but it's a doable fight.
Reaver is just absudrly frustrating- it feels super arbitrary whether or not you can hit.

EDIT: I think it gets +20% all for every hit it gets in a round???

Dratomos -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 13:16:02)

@mahasamatman, you can hit Reaver every time, but he halves damage after each hit. So first deals 100%, second 50%, third 25% etc. Use classes that hit very few times, like Kathool Adept.

Mooselim -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 13:38:41)

I'm not sure how I feel about Underworld Epoch's final, considering you have to sacrifice double turns for it. Conceptually it's really cool, either increase your defense or increase your damage depending on how much momentum you have. At max momentum, the damage you do is the same as Base Epoch's - but you have to trade away double turns for it which is a huge blow against it. I'm not sure how this should best be tackled, but I don't like the state the final is in right now. Verlyrus did mention a really cool idea for timeshift though about making it like Pyromancer's rebirth, which I think would be good.

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 13:48:25)

Regarding underworld epoch: would it be possible to implement a way of selecting how much momentum to use? So if you have full momentum you can still choose the 3 momentum version for more defenses and keep double turns. Also with this new final, wouldn't the old timeshift be more useful? Set up buffs -> use final -> refill momentum with timeshift.

BluuHorseOfficial -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 14:15:36)

I mean that might actually be a bit too powerful, Kurtz, being able to give yourself 15 All is a pretty big deal even if only for 3 turns and at the cost of nuke damage.

Ultima29 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 14:19:23)

People will think CW is gutted and hard nerfed until simeonDF goes and beats all the challenges with it again. Then people will just copy his turn order and all will be well with the community.

Well I hope you all are happy, we got the damage back but lost the auto stun which was way better...
Thanks guys we did it.

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 14:38:00)

Perhaps. But balancing aside, I was more curious if mechanically it could be done. I don't believe that DF currently has any skills that have different levels within one skill.

EDIT: I have gotten the 2 upgraded gems and while they look cool, their effects don't seem that significant. The all resist is only 5 and only lasts for 2 turns while Reaver heals based on its damage so against darkness/all resist enemies it is pretty worthless.

shrike -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/7/2020 18:34:36)

Really big fan of the new board. Interesting lore, super unique mechanics. I'm relieved that we're getting traditional duos back again, and Life and Death in particular are really cool conceptually. Can't wait to see the next few duos on this board. If the newest one is any indication of what the rest will be like, The Conduit is shaping up to be an overall really good board.

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (3/8/2020 0:10:53)

With the new nerfs, Reaver is now the easier of the two. Would still recommend taking him down first though as he dies quicker.

FMan -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/1/2020 20:27:39)

I want to point a problem in reaver's buffs absorption.
While trying to clear it with the shadow walker of time class, the status absorption skill of the reaver absorbs his shadow charges ( which make SWOT unplayable ) please look into this ( also it takes him out of the shadows if he's in that mode, not sure if it's ok either, but if hes absorbing buff, can make him absprbs only the def buff and not taking SWOT out of the shadows? It really make this class at huge disadvantage, taking a buff is one thing, but locking skills is another ).

TFS -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/2/2020 20:51:49)

^You can prevent him from eating your buffs by shielding the attack, either with SWoT's native shield skill or with the assistance of an accessory shield like that of your pet dragon. He can't eat your buffs unless the attack connects.

FMan -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/2/2020 23:55:07)

First, there are other bosses that consumes buffs, shadow charges are exception ( Leorila I think, or it was the guy who comes with him ).

2nd what's the point in using a def buff that will eat my charges if I want to protect them? it won't protect his charges( not sure you have SWOT experience, SWOT looks really good from reading his abillities, but his abillities has catches , limits, conditions, etc , and gotta act according to situation, balance offence with defense which can be tricky in overall, but thats ok cause I like it, but can't do it in this challange, equip SWOT if you do have him in life and death and see it for yourself, in overall its hard yes, but they completly disarm SWOT spesificly so can't even try. They don't eat CW's charges, yet they do eat SWOT's and furthermore the loss of charges is way more fatal for SWOT ) .

3rd dragon deff buf has very high cd, its not a solution ( for 1 time protection, 2-3 without ). Also reaper's buff's absorpation got low cd, also his attack has high bonus, and he just needs 1 of the hits to even semi connect ( which is highly likely to happen unless you use kathol's deff buff of 255 mpm ).

Just a note, cleared it around ,2 weeks ago ( using kathool ), I want to rise this point mainly for SWOT mechanics/ future gameplay in bosses like that ( it will be nice to see it done in life and death challange and future bosses with that abillity too ).

status absorption has a role to take away buffs like defence, power etc, but SWOT is literally the only class that it disarms, skill set wise and his entire mechanics ( even CW charges aren't eaten, cause I guess its not supposed to be, and CW only lose access to buffed skills, SWOT loses half of his skills set, and the combos that come with it with a combination with the other side ) , so his entire gameplay and mechanics are completely ruined by that.

Lastly I remmber reading about people not appriciating mechanics enough, claiming CW ruins challanges ( and he was nerfed, even though he was pretty weak in duos and trios ).

So, how can I appreciate SWOT's mechanics if it is completely disarmed ? ( There is a diff between taking a buff, its part of the game, and locking half of a class's skill set, which only he suffers from, and even other classes with the same idea of charges ( CW ), don't suffer from it.

FMan -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/16/2020 21:32:06)

Sorry for the double post, but a long time passed and still no replay about SWOT's at status consumption/ counter ( the counter isnt too bas,but consumption is )
Can any dev take a look into this please and replay with a plan ( even if it's a no, hoping for an explained replay ) ty .

TFS -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/16/2020 22:19:31)

^This probably isn't the response you're looking for, but if a boss's mechanics specifically counter your class it might be a better idea to change your class/strategy than it is to ask the developers to change the game.

Vikken101 -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/16/2020 22:30:47)

Not every class is gonna be good for every inn challenge, its as simple as that, that goes for calendar classes too. Using a variety of gear and classes to solve a challenge is part of the fun of the inn.

BlackwingMF -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/17/2020 3:50:37)

As a ChW main my only input on the matter is the changes are welcomed. I still find the class to be completely relevant. When I came back about a week ago I immediately got the doomknight package, and it was great. But when I accidentally stumbled upon the hidden portal in ravenloss and found the chaosweaver class, I immediately bought it due to remembering how cool the class looked when playing the story back in the day. I was not disappointed. Its raw power is nearly unmatched, the insane 2nd to last right side skill that DoTs for huge damage is so nice. That paired with gambit will take down any non boss monster in almost every story missions , making grinding super easy and efficient. Dr voltabots challenge on hard can easily be done with a combo of gambit and final in 1 turn succession, provided you dont miss, which might I add is extremely rare. Doomknight has its perks, and is one of the best classes visually, but chW is still a top pick easily, minus Inn challenges. A little sad to see how badly gambit was nerfed, but I wouldn't say its essential. I do not know if Baron Dante is on this forum, but he has done some of the craziest things over the years in terms of fights and challenges, because hes taken the time to work out possibilities that most others dont want to put the work in to figure out. Nerfs arent always a negative thing. It just means new strategies can be discovered.

ProbablyCallum -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/17/2020 4:51:29)

What did he mean by this

BlackwingMF -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/17/2020 5:07:30)

Whats the context of your question callum?

ProbablyCallum -> RE: =DF= March 6th Design Notes: Arena at the Edge of Time: The Conduit (4/17/2020 5:51:07)

You started posting in a 1 and a half months old thead about gambit being nerfed when those nerfs were reverted the very next week and replaced with some different changes, and then after that you started talking about how great dante is when he doesnt do anything "crazy" at all regarding fights and challenges, the only impressive thing about him is hitting exp cap every single day with the power of nolifing. If anyone deserves credit for strats it'd be tfs or sol or simeon, certainly not farmville dante. I dont see why you'd lie about having accidentally found the fire paradigm either instead of just being honest and saying you looked up the answer just like everyone else. Your entire post is really quite baffling.
