Asollan -> Dracomancer set up? (3/27/2020 11:02:15)

Hi coming back to the game after such a long time and i wanted to get more seriously into it.

My favourite class is dracomancer because who the heck wouldn't want to be half-dragon

I just wanted to know what the best stat build is for it? I know it has a 50/50 on either melee or magic attack with the transformation but i dont know if it actually scales with intellect or strength or whatever. If anyone could help me understand how it works/how to build a good dracomancer/how skills in general scale off stats. I'd greatly appreciate it! ^_^

Not what you were hoping to hear, but most classes, including Dracomancer are old, weak and useless.

For something more relevant, choose between Werewolf, Vampire and Werepyre. These subraces have been updated and come with about 10 skills, just like class armours, but up to date and very strong.

Each of these come with a transformation into your "Beast Form".

Definitely what I wasn't looking for. Does the dracomancer attack scale with strength or intellect?

The half dragon shape shift

Firstly, I would just like to echo what @Shiba said: Dracomancer is outdated and not good to use right now. You will end up losing (a lot) whether you have an optimal stat build or not.

Secondly, to answer your question: Half dragon shapeshift is a bit of a weird skill in general. It costs MP to maintain it every turn, so an investment into INT is advised. 50% of the time it has a melee attack, the other 50% is magic. I'm going to assume two scenarios here:
1). It automatically converts your damage to that type but still respects your weapon stats. Under this scenario, you should already have invested in correct stat
2). The melee attack is based on STR and magic attack on INT. In that scenario, you'd want investment in both STR and INT, so hybrid is the way to go.

Thanks. Not sure what point 1 means though. If im using a strength weapon it will use strength as the damage source?

CH4OT1C! -> RE: Dracomancer set up? (3/27/2020 13:38:17)

To clarify:
Obviously the Encyclopedia entry for this item doesn't clarify whether or not the Half-Dragon attacks "scale" with INT and STR, so I'm making assumptions based upon two different scenarios. Regarding scenario 1, Melee attacks typically deal damage based on STR and Magic based on INT (As I'm sure you know already). However, due to that lack of clarification, it is possible that Half-Dragon form could convert you from one damage type to another (E.g. Melee to Magic) WITHOUT changing how the damage scales. To put that into context, that Magic attack might still scale based on STR. If this is the case, you wouldn't need to worry about redistributed because you should already have the correct stats for the weapons you're using.

So going off of this:
Focus all your skills and magical powers to give yourself massive power as a part-dragon hybrid! 10% of occurring as a regular attack.
MP Cost: 150 MP

Hits: 1
Damage: 600% base and random.
Attack type: Magic
BTH: 80%
Rate: 50%

OR

Hits: 2
Damage: 200% base and random each.
Attack type: Melee
BTH: 40%
Rate: 50%

I could assume it goes off of my weapons base damage values? So a weapon that does 31 damage would be increased to 182 for a magic attack and 62 for a melee?
