My personal favorite is also one I regret selling many years ago, Ice Fall. It absorbed damage to heal and could even resurrect you. It was a crazy but cool armor to play with.

I feel old now...

I have to agree with the earlier sentiment on the protector armor, it's just a really neat concept and one that really stuck with me since I was younger. My favorite, though:

Obsidian Cloak

I always enjoy playing the archetype of the pragmatic dark mage- not necessarily evil or selfish, but willing to use distasteful means to do what they seek to do. I really like the flavor of you standing back while your minion wields your weapon/shield for you, and the class abilities are pretty dang fun (if not strictly the most useful nowadays), with ones like undead mutant and the final Lich ability being some of my favorites.

At least for older armors, probably either Icefall or the original Nightmare Plate. Icefall may be my oldest rare, and with all the rares I wish I kept I am glad I was able to hold onto that one for nostalgia.

I also fondly remember farming the Carnax future war with necromancer trying to get the 2 million gold for Nightmare set before it went rare. Once you had an uber it was the last armor you ever need (Not exactly balanced but fun). Of course after I got it the staff changed their policy on rare ubers. I still really like the artwork for the Nightmare plate, and do hope the staff update the Nemesis set.

For me it would be Full Metal Santa. That armor is up there as one of the best in-game Frostval presents ever (along with the entire set). The art and mechanics of the armor were great for its time.

evolved void of nulgath. While I'd have preferred the original, the evolved fits the role for me. It's my favorite armor of all time for AE

damn no one mentioned shiny boy?? i remember going to the quest everyday just to equip the temp armor.

also zeruel's video vs the brain spider sold me on the armor HAHAHA

I always wondered why Dragon Slayer armor has a more dragon-like theme than Dracomancer armor. Then I realized that it was because Dragon Slayer armor is made with real dragons.

Boreal Bolt Plate because I remember thinking how Kick arse it was combining the two most powerful armors at the time was.

Frostval Merc set
What can I say about this fine chap, got style, can daze your opponent and uses the HUD while doing it.

Moglord Tortress
Who doesn't want to ride a giant magma/water turtle as a moglin while the turtle also has a flamethrower/water cannon.

Shapechanger's Dragon Leathers
Simple, sleek, used to be the undisputed best water/ice compression for a time, pretty good for an old armor.

haven't really played this in ages, but i have so many fond childhood memories of wearing The Decimator with CIT and killing random monsters lol
