Frieza 100 Percent -> A Question Regarding Sisters of Mercy Spell (5/30/2020 12:55:00)

(I didn't understand where I should post this. So if it is posted in the wrong area, feel free to move it.)
Why does the Sisters of Mercy spell cut in half the heals the player receives from pets and guests? Is this an intended effect?
For example, if I use Sisters of Mercy Spell, I sacrifice sp to get a heal and an elemental shield that will block roughly half the damage the monster does the next turn.
However, if I also have Retro Twilly G, Call Twilly, or any other healing pet/guest their healing will also be halved by the elemental shield.
Any clarity on this would be much appreciated.
