I started a new player and I just can't help but notice everything new follows the same lvl tier structure (5, 15, 35, 55, 75... etc).... why?
So characters that are in the middle of these lvls just need to grind it out for more gear?
This wasn't a problem before but more and more I find there just isn't any variety. I have to wait until the 20 lvls to get anything decent. This it's more money efficient, but also my equipment is just not up to date for like at least 10 lvls and it sucks.
From 2010 to June 8, 2017's Fanatiker's Hammer and Gelamation Barrier/Helm, equipment had varied tiering that was close to the level cap at the time and constitute the majority while the Lv 5 equipment tiered at intervals of 20 are the minority in the present day.
One concern this standardization addresses is the dilemma of choosing between a lower level MC and a higher level standard item, without both visiting the forum's info subs to acquire information and performing a calculation involving stats and weapon/armor BRS% one doesn't know which one would be the better choice.
The 20 level interval maximum tiering implies that an item less than 20 levels below the character is considered usable for defeating standard enemies without difficulty.
The recent reduction of Adventurer no drops scaling from Level -20 to -10 is a one-off case, Devs have not indicated they have adopted intervals of 10 as the new standard.

3 main tier varieties exist in Adventure Quest (2020)
