For anyone who's finished the new Paladin Quests, the Sacred Paladin weapons offer great sustainability for endless undead hordes.

Question about the boss at the end of the first run. It has not Int and a STR of over 500 at lvl 150, but attacks with magic and hits like a freight train. Am I missing something here?

I can't even get there; I decided to stay in an area to reduce the bad stuff and I can't win a fight now because IT HAS A 100% CHANCE DAZE EFFECT. HOW do you deal with that?

@wozzen did the daze chance increase to 100% when you hoverred over your character's circle? I just tried out the quest again (jumping down to deeper floors immediately) and it showed 50% daze chance

If you really have to deal with a 100% daze chance, there is a trick to negate that completely. The werepyre armors' freedom skill could purge the daze permanently and it won't get applied to your character again (no ideas if this is a bug, though...). The other option is to rise your defense to such an absurd level that the enemies' attacks can't even hit you anymore, though I don't recommend this as this build is not popular with players due to its... tedious nature

I eventually got a run that didn't have such a high stun chance, but high defense isn't really my kinda thing; I prefer abandoning ALL SENSE of self-preservation/survival because "me want biggest boom AND biggest smash" is such a fun playstyle.


The problem with the Werepyre thing is that that would require me to abandon most of my armors because most of the enemies are not Earth/Dark, and I like the aesthetics/abilities on all my different armors, and also it's probably a bug because the way that effect is supposed to work is that subsequent turns cost a fairly big SP chunk to maintain.

It's not a bug. Rather, the status effects don't seem to get renewed, presumably because it would be unnecessary, as the status effects are permanent. Werepyre only needs to remove the effect once because of that.

As to a way to get through the fights without resorting to defensive measures: one could easily just stack Kindred Charges and plow through all the fights. Since Kindred does not consume any other resources, it makes the lack of healing a complete non-issue. It's not even necessary to reduce the status effects through staying in the same section because of Kindred's damage output, but it would obviously make the boss far easier.

I find the updated Paladin armors to be incredible for the sustainability necessary for the quest, and they do just as well for blitzing the quest. I was able to defeat the boss without reducing the status effects at all and without using a single potion. Resplendent Surge is truly an amazing defensive skill.

Been getting through using the Paladin armor. As for the Old Fashioned Staple of Kindred, that WOULD work...if I had the DEX to hit reliably.

No DEX because of the aforementioned "biggest booms AND biggest smash" play philosophy.

Ahh. You are a werepyre hybrid. In that case, beast form + Book of Burns would probably work.

Personally wouldn't use the phrase "Werepyre Hybrid", on the grounds that I only have the one armor and only use it for Earth/Dark enemies, but yeah traditional No DEX hybrid; don't really know what a Book of Burns is, but I'm fine with the gear I've got.


Well, sorta traditional; I traded 50 LUK for 50 END because a few hundred more HP helps a lot more than what that 50 points would do finishing up LUK.

Book of Burns is a reward from the Moderator Gauntlet of the Arena of Enthusiasts at the Guardian Tower. It's essentially the mage's Kindred, except it trades high burst damage for infinite quick-cast fire spells. It's absolutely cheese if you are okay with that. People have used it to kill Loco and Carnax.

End is an underrated stat. Because HP to SP conversion is so readily available, End is arguably one of the strongest stats for offensive and defensive players. It's only because the existence of Purple Rain, Love Potion, and Shadowfeeder Pendant makes resource management far less important that End is so often overlooked.

Is it just me that I keep getting Cracked Scrying orbs after hours. Never see the portrait of better times.

Cracked Scrying orb is obtained by exploring the first level. Once you find it, you can head to the second floor to find the portrait (I am assuming that you have been staying in the first floor even after finding the orb)

An issue was identified that replaced Portrait of Better Times with a duplicate Cracked Scrying Orb. Imry is on it.

So that's why I saw like 400 cracked orbs? I thought it was just bad RNG.
