Drop opinions of this 3-part mini arc

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/14/2020 13:01:33)

Some of the creepy Food Monsters were revealed earlier on Twitter as the arts by Darkon who confirmed to me there that this has nothing to do with the experiments involving those strange creatures which he said won't be continued until February.

They made a personification of Sleep Paralysis as a hag-type monster. The Bed Monster (which is the AQW's version of the classical Monster Under the Bed) is a recycled version of Dark Moglinster.

Voltaire's gothic darkness and Memer;s dreamlike insanity work well tigether

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/15/2020 12:42:38)

Next week, Sleep Paralysis tampers with Memet's dreams.

It was mentioned in Memet's bio on the design notes that Memet is actually a Baku in disguise as revealed in this link: https://www.aq.com/gamedesignnotes/artistshowcaseshopmemet-2747. Her true form was seen at the time when Zorbak tried to take control of the dreams.

Note that bakus resemble tapirs

*pictures Memet as a tapir*

This is what we fought Memet as during the Moon Lab release when Zorbak tried to take over her job: http://aqwwiki.wikidot.com/escaped-experiment

The early 17th Century depiction of a Baku depicted it with the trunk of an elephant, the eyes of a rhinoceros, the tail of an ox, and the paws of a tiger.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/20/2020 18:28:41)

In Part II, Voltaire's spookiness disappears, and Memet's insanity reigns supreme......

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/21/2020 12:34:29)

While fighting Fire Cyclones and Blazing Embers, the players had to work to get Memet's insanity quelled. In addition, we also had to fight Eye Wyrms whose faces remind of something and the Nightmare Maws which resemble an altered version of some of the Maws we previously fought.

When it came to adapting the creatures from the "Cannibal Mermaids" book, the monsters are depicted as sharp-toothed females with fish tails and legs.

The culprit was a monster that was called the Dark Pit of Despair which the players defeated and caused to collapse on itself.

The release ended with the threesome making it back to Battleon to meet up with Oiishi, but the portal to Memet's dreams was left open allowing the Murder Hornets to appear. These Murder Hornets had their designs revealed on Twitter.

For the final release, we will have to do some serious pest control.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/21/2020 15:54:00)

Spending Thanksgiving swatting evil hornets. Only in AQW..........

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/23/2020 14:41:29)

That is among the pest control that we will be doing this week.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/26/2020 10:27:02)

So, Memet's idea of 2020 is a giant brain-eating murder hornet on fire.....

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/26/2020 13:53:16)

They called the Fire Tornado monster This Year where it was the result of the Brain-Eating Amoebas putting together the flames from the Storm Cores, the fallen Brain-Eating Amoebas, the fallen Murder Hornets, and the fallen Zombie Cicadas into one monster.

At least everybody got to meet Globlin who became Voltaire's latest friend. Much to the dismay of the everyone, Twig befriended a Murder Hornet that he called Buzzy.

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/28/2020 11:07:29)

If you are talking about Darkon's part of the Feast of Nightmares three-parter, he was the one who drew up the different monsters in that release. I still didn't know that AQW had a personification of Sleep Paralysis.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (11/30/2020 19:27:27)

Voltaire/Memet depict spooky/startling things
Darkon takes the demonic road

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/1/2020 12:07:53)

Speaking of Darkon, he did mention to me on Facebook that the next bunch of experiments involving those strange beasts will be occurring in February.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/1/2020 14:42:33)

He also mentioned that the next girl was So.. Im starting to see a pattern. I think there will be 8 girls:
Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do

kaos rules x -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/7/2020 13:27:27)

I wouldn't exactly call the Darkon story demonic. The artwork shares a lot of features with the typical demonic style in AQWorlds, but I think he's going for a more Eldritch and Unknown Entity/Old Gods story. It's a genre that I've come to appreciate more, and it's cool to see AQWorlds take another spin on it after all the references they've had to the genre (like all the references to the Necronomicon).

The only limiting factor so far is that Darkon's story has been showing his factions' discussions and sides of events, which removes the sense of dread and unknowing that usually comes with that brand of horror.

I'm no expert by any means, but as someone who enjoys a good scary story I've enjoyed seeing AQWorlds make new releases into the creepy side of things.

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/7/2020 13:31:29)

The strange beasts that he created from the humans are so horrifying, I can't even describe them.

Beshin Adin -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/8/2020 11:15:22)

If you've ever seen the anime 'Parasyte, the Maxim', Darkon's story gives me that vibe

Rtkat3 -> RE: Feast of Nightmares (12/8/2020 12:56:02)

The first Parasyte anime was on Adult Swim's revival of Toonami at some point.
