It's Friday the 13th once again... which means that the machinations of another of the Maleurous begins! A massive threat emerges in an as of yet unknown land... but as the number of Maleurous remaining dwindles, what plots lay in wait for you this time? Remnants at Rest is now accessible from the Quest Log as the first part of the story of the penultimate Maleurous! Also this week, we have a few bug fixes: •Akaz now properly applies Chemist's Soul to himself. •Akaz's potions now apply on the turn used. •Majji now properly buffs his damage when stunned. •Al'nold's "Rabbit's Speed" should now properly apply on the turn applied. •The "Burning Zombie" enemy in the quest "The Burning Village" should now no longer occasionally freeze when attacking. spoiler: Ooh, the Avatars are gonna be really ticked off if they ever figure out that the hero got friendly with Lock and Key. I wouldn't be surprised if we're finally kicked off the task after this Maleurous is neutralized.

So what mech do you guys think Myalos will use? I'm betting on the Dragonoid. The appendage doesn't look like it's from a humanoid mech and anything less than a dragonoid would be a Kordana level threat. Not worth the avatars getting involved.

Tricky release, so where's the potion box for those who used up the first mushroom up already? spoiler: Fastest route for NDA in this quest is right-->down-->right-->down-->left-->down-->right-->right with the limited potions and pet heals and lesser experience.

Guys, fantastic release, thank you! The story goes back to the roots (imho to the most interesting and misterious line in book 1), with a Classic DF-style hack and slash maze to a though boss at the end to have the challenge in it. This all, with the nicely unfolding background elements, giving hints that you are going to the right direction and about what to come, but what you expect is saved for a later release... and the cutscene at the end was also very interesting! I wonder what the broken dream-scape leads to in the future, and that our choice to help Lock&Key will be the right or not... You overdid yourselves again. I started playing 10+ years ago, but it is a pleasure to come check the releases.

This was an absolutely Poggers release! Can't believe that after so many years this game just keeps on getting better and better! Just as Azamoth said above me, Dove and Verlyrus really outdid themselves.

First of all i can't say enough how much i like these Maleurous releases. Verlyrus Dove and/or the person who wrote the story congrats! When the first release came with Sinnocence i remember i was excited since i liked the Mysterious Stranger as a villain but i didn't know what will be this new storyline about. One think i was sure is that we get to see the MS's comeback spoiler: which didn't happened LOL Which makes me wonder does the Maleurous even related to the MS? Except the cloak and the fact that one of them made a deal with a dark spirit there's nothing. Anyway still even without him it's still one of my favorite story. Probably because we get to meet with the Maleurous. They are interesting to say the least. Everyone of them with different personality, goals and the fact we supposed to think they all evil when in reality they all just misunderstood. Ok everyone except Remthalas we still don't know him really. It's a shame we didn't get a quick war but that's fine since we got a fantastic release and i guess this is not the right release for a war. I have to say these new enemies are hard hitters. I mean 4 hits, almost 300 hit, 300 dodge and full heal/life steal. Surprisingly the end boss was really easy. spoiler: I'm scared i mean i hope Lock and Key will survive. I like them and i hope we hang out with them later on. I'm so ready to go against the Avatars. They still didn't give us any good reasons why the Maleurous are bad guys. So long everyone except Remthalas was ok. Sinnocence was confused and really just wanted to die. Mr Nameless just wanted someone who would love him. I'm still pissed he was killed i wanted to hang out with him (all of them actually they are so interesting, except Remthalas i can't wait to beat him up) i really, really hope Sally revive him later. Lock and Key are more like observers, they collect informations. I wasn't sure if they were gonna betray us but this release made it sure they are on our side. And the Angel was just overtaken by the hatred towards dragons. She's like Drakonnan except instead of using the fire orb she made a deal with a dark spirit (who i'm sure we will see later). Oh and after we deal with Myalos (hopefully not killing it but i fear it gets killed somehow) Uaanta needs to open her eyes and see that these Maleurous guys are not really evil and she needs to think for herself and go against the Avatars. I have to say after doing these quests i'm not exactly on the Avatars side. As if it wasn't obvious LOL

Like the Calamity saga, I've been really enjoying these Maleurous releases, as they do feel nostalgic, as old characters from Book 1 appear (Avatars, Zorbak and Twilly for example) or plot threads and/or nods (Fluffly and now Kortana). And I agree with @spirit_of_greed, Maleurous are not the evil force Avatars make them out to be.

Really cool to see the Shadowscythe, especially from Mechquest since that game's been inactive for a while. Brought back some strange feelings of nostalgia.
