Furore -> Mobile version game controller (without root/jailbreak) (1/24/2021 22:15:33)

Hi all, I've been looking at connecting up my gamepad to AQ3D. It works fine for games with controller support but AQ3D doesn't have this and from what I understand the PC version can be played with a controller because steam has that covered. It seems this will be easy with rooted devices but it would be great to find a way to do this without rooting because rooting isn't recommended. Additionally it means a similar solution may be possible for iPhone too without jailbreaking which is more risky than rooting android. In rooting there seems to be options to remap keyboard buttons to controller buttons and there's also mapping screen touches to controller buttons. However all we really need is for AQ3D to register button/joystick activity on the gamepad. I have two Bluetooth controllers to try things out with. Does anyone else have any ideas or has had any success with this? Edit: I'm also looking into options to permanently reconfigure a controller to behave as a keyboard. I've sent a message to the developers of reWASD to see if their software can cover this and am looking out for other possibilities too. This format would lower the sensitivity of joysticks making it less useful for other games but it may be a solution. Edit2: Some interesting observations when connecting my Bluetooth gamepad to my phone and starting up AQ3D: 1) The key bindings page in settings fails to show up at all when the gamepad is connected when returning to character screen to see these options while the gamepad is connected. This happens regardless of controller being connected. 2) If opening AQ3D and heading to key bindings before connecting the gamepad then remapping buttons to the keypad: AQ3D seems to accept button inputs but not joystick or D-pad inputs. However it fails to apply/save these changes and it will revert to the keyboard buttons even if it displays a message stating the settings are successfully saved. No change occurs when in game.
