So i didnt realise there's actually a difference with them gameplay wise, might anyone be able to enlighten? Thanks!

A BPD shield will lower the damage of incoming attacks by 90% (will turn them into Blocked/Dodged/Parried hits), and will not fully protect you from critical hits.
An MPM shield will completely negate all the damage of incoming attacks (will turn them into Misses), and cannot be trumped with a critical hit.
Neither MPM nor BPD shields can block attacks from foes with high enough Bonus (accuracy).

So basically an MPM shield is just strictly better than a BPD shield.

Ah, thanks for the explanation!

What might you mean by "cannot be trumped with a critical hit." tho? Since with a high enough bonus opponents can still hit through MPM shield

A critical hit's chance of occuring fluctuates with the Crit stat, not the Bonus stat. You can tell you've scored a critical hit if your attack deals more damage than and has its damage displayed in a larger font.
If you score a critical hit on a BPD shield, you'll deal the full damage of a normal attack - the BPD's damage reduction will 'cancel out' the crit modifier. If you crit on an MPM shield, the attack will still miss.
BPD can be bypassed with Bonus or with critical hits, while MPM can only be bypassed with Bonus.
