Tahur -> Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/26/2021 17:23:43)

To me dragonfable is all about the different playstyles you can get (and I love it), but the addition of new classes seems to have stagnated in the past years. Most new armors have been revamps or uptades of the old ones (which are amazing btw). I'm just saying that there's lots of potential to be exploited.
New classes could include the never released Arachnomancer, a Beastmaster with lots of summons that increase dmg with CHA (trained with Aria of course), some kind of LUK based class that uses cards to fight (trained by Ellial in Ravenloss through some kind of questline), even Soulsmith could be a great addition (could be learned somewhere on the shapeless empire), Uuanta could teach you the skills of a Swordcerer, Falwynn (or someone else) could train you to be a Marksman.
These are just a series of ideas of what could be done in the far future. Let me hear your thoughts.

Dratomos -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/26/2021 19:12:28)

Due to the dev team being smaller (only Dove and Verly are fulltime to my knowledge), the release of new classes has been stopped. Fleshweaver is the only one that will be added anymore and new Epoch artifacts with calenders.

Creating a new class takes a lot of time. New animations and mechanics, etc. Doverly want to make it the best it can be, which means they don't want to rush poorly done classes (like ACC).

Verlyrus -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/26/2021 23:54:37)

Creating new classes is something that we do want to do. We're aware that Book 3 lacks classes to train and use, and new playstyles are always fun.

Unfortunately, new classes are the most resource intensive projects for us to work on across the board. With weekly releases, it's hard for us to find time to work on designing new classes.

All that said, it's something we want, and it's something players want, so we'll do our best.

Fire alandry -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/27/2021 4:14:14)

Verly, I'd like to say that you do give us new classes. The revamps made useless classes to powerful and fun to use, maintaining the old concept of the class with much more unique flavor.
Although we win't get new classes soon, I can't wait to see what will you do with the rest of the unreramped classes.

Roc -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/27/2021 8:04:06)

Cronix would help a lot of a new class' new animation burden.

Sample

Tahur -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/27/2021 16:36:20)

I can imagine new classes do take a lot of work to create, keep up with the good work Verly, this game is amazing.

Zeebuoy -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/28/2021 20:53:25)

@Dramatos

"which means they don't want to rush poorly done classes (like ACC)."

what's ACC?

Laeon val Observis -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/28/2021 21:11:41)

That would be the Ascended ChickenCow Armor. And you can use quotation tags instead of quotation marks as that's the norm here.

Guerra -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/29/2021 21:54:47)

I know a lot of people hve a class or two they really want to see in game, but to ease the work load on Dove and Verlyrus a bit compared to a full class, and because some classes like Berzerker and Beast Master might be extremely difficult to develope a full and original skill set for, what do you think of using trinkets/relics/artefacts (whatever we call them) to change the look and some of the skills of some classes and maybe give them a new passive?

A Berzerker aesthetically based off the Beta Berzerer from AQW would be AWESOME, but if a Berzerker class isn't going to be implimented in the future because a full skill list can't be formed (or maybe I'm just not creative enough to come up with very many ideas for one, and its actually have a full skill list ready to go but its just waiting in a very long line of great ideas the developers are working on), it could be tied to a artifact that would alter a few skills and give a passive that could give a damage boost based on the amount of health you have missing. It could be tied to the Warrior class, or maybe even DragonLord, Doomknight, or one of the togslayers (as a refrense to Rolith being the Berzerker trainer in the original AQ (if I'm not mistaken). Necromancer could get a trinket that could make it look like a Beast Master instead, and change the summoning skill animation to summoning wildlife. Dracomancer could be given to DragonLord or even Dragonslayer. Assassin could be tied to Rogue, Ninja, or Ranger. Elamentalist could use Mage or Dragonlord as well.

This method could also be expanded to alterations more similar to epoch changes instead of entirely different classes. The Archevist Class could get a Hacker/computer/tech chanege if you have a certain helmet artifact equiped. Their Book of Lore could be changed to a laptop, and the animations could be changed to a tech/simulation style of attacks. Maybe if you get the Gnarly Guitar of Doom with the Student class, you get a Bon Scott High Voltage cover-themed look with a new Lightning/Thunder Skill. Maybe some dirty skills done dirt cheap. Who knows, the possibilities are endless!

Technomancer, the base classes, or versions of the base classes like the dragon base classes or maybe even the Altean base classes could get "de-meched" looks of the three mechs in their respective house: WolfBlade, MystRaven, and RuneHawk. "DE-Meched" meaning your character found smaller, you-sized units, and stripped the outer armor personal use. These could be triggered by having the weapon, helmet, and cape of the corresponding mech equiped like the Frost Moglin does. Doom Knight could get a custimization set that is based off of the Sepulchure as well.

Technomancer could also get a Alchemist custimization as an alternative to all the high tech if a full Alchemist class might not be possible.

I'm really digging that School of Rock theme for the Student.

Laeon val Observis -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/30/2021 2:40:46)

@Guerra, what this page was referring to is the possibility of adding new classes and cosmetic changes aren't really enough to make a class such, and the majority of your perspectives focus solely on that. I will commend your attempt at a proposal with the berserking artifact, though dragonlord doesn't really need another one as its Dragon's Rage artifact makes it berserker-y already.

Zeebuoy -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (5/30/2021 8:24:54)

@Laeon val Observis thanks, also im working on finding out how to use/find a quotation tag

When you make a post under the subject line there are a bunch of buttons. One of them is the quote button. You can also type [quote ][ / quote] but remove all the spaces

ergotth -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (6/27/2021 20:57:21)

Can't believe I found it, but I remember doing this concept for a time class that uses card :D

caleb777 -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (6/30/2021 22:53:59)

Unfortunately, a class that has been teased and I doubt will be released is the Dracomancer. Introduced in Ravenloss, is mentioned, but if they won't be releasing new classes, we definitely won't be getting it.

Plendamonda2 -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (7/2/2021 23:56:18)

Probably not something that will happen, but I feel like one of the easier ways to give more class variety would simply be to somehow allow use of all the Base class variants on every character.

Cause if you think about it that's like ~8 classes that you're locked out of. (Regular Base, Shadow Base, Dragon Base, Atealan Base).
Well, the Regular/Shadow ones aren't as important since you don't use them much (although Shadow is ... decent if you have the Bracer I guess).
I think the Shadow Base classes are a good point - that option already lets you have 2 of the 3 base classes, so all we need is a way to have the 3rd.

But the Dragon & Atealan variations still are pretty cool and each has their own strengths and places where they are useful.
So even if it's just those, you're looking at potentially 4 additional classes with decent enough differences to add some variety?

'Course you can always make a whole new account but that takes a bunch of effort and doesn't actually solve the problem of variety and access to every option on any given character.
Especially with Inn Challenges and stuff, sometimes one of those classes can make a specific fight much easier but you're just locked out if you don't have a given Base.

And maybe not something you can justify lore-wise... but there are a lot of classes that aren't justified lore wise and are just for fun or for paying IRL money.

Personally I'd be more than happy to pay some DC's even, if it had to come to that.
Granted, there is the option to pay DC's and permanently change your default class, but obviously I'm not willing to pay 500 DC's every time I just want to mess around with a different base class.
Technically cost would be 1,000 DC's assuming you wanted to switch back.

Maybe it's better for most people to encourage multiple characters, but IDK, just something I was thinking about.

I haven't done this myself so I can't confirm it works, but I have always assumed that you could theoretically save the Dragon or Atealan as your login class, then visit the BM Moglin to change your base class. That would theoretically allow all 3 classes if you had Shadow, but again I haven't tested if it works.

ergotth -> RE: Suggestion: Adding new classes to the game (Eventually) (7/18/2021 3:07:10)

The moment you visit the BM moglin and change your base class, you're automaticaly changed to it, and the Atealan classes are simply saved as "Atealan base class", so if you save it prior, you will most likely be wearing the right one next log-in.
