I suggest that you read up on how status saves work in AQ. You can do so using the big list of AQ formulas. A very short answer to your question(s) is that the [minor stat] will always be a part of the save regardless of how high your [major stat] is. Someone in the unofficial Discord server actually explained today how saves work. We have this information from the list of AQ formulas: quote:
Level: (InflictLevelStatistic - ResistLevelStatistic)/2 Major: (MajorInflictStatistic - MajorResistStatistic)/5, minimum -20, maximum +20 Minor: (MinorInflictStatistic - MinorResistStatistic)/10, minimum -10, maximum +10 Additional Modifiers: (NetInflictModifiers - NetResistModifiers) The next quote is the explanation. Credit goes to CH4OT1C! on Discord. quote:
think of this as like rolling a di a 100 sided di, to be precise so, 100 sided di, anything above 50 is successful and anything below 50 is a failure however, the number you get can increase and decrease based on those values above Level: (InflictLevelStatistic - ResistLevelStatistic)/2 typically your inflict level stat is the pwrlvl of the item. A guardian item at level 150 is 153 lets say the monster is 130 thats (153 - 130) / 2 = 11.5 so, whatever you roll on your di will get + 11.5 the same logic applies to your major and minor so say it's INT and you have 250, the monster has 0. That's (250 - 0)/ 5 = 50, but it's capped to 20 in this scenario, your di would currently have roll + 11.5 + 20 the same logic applies to your minor and your added bonuses, which covers things like fear potency at the end of that process, you add up your totals, if it's over 50, success, below 50 you fail. this means, if you have +100 for whatever reason, you're guaranteed to inflict and, if you're fighting a level 500 you're destined to fail
