Sapphire -> Werepyre Question (6/27/2021 15:16:59)

Ok so it gets hybrid stats. And it's best for hybrids, obviously.

But here's the question..

The info subs line says: Toggle, causes all Melee and Magic player attacks to use INT/16 + STR/16 for damage and STR*3/40 + INT*3/40 + LUK/40.

Would this mean if one had a 250 int/luk/char build, ( I get Neko and Vampire subrace might be a better option, but im playing with stuff) it would be best to wield melee weapons instead of magic weapons since the base/random is higher for melee even though I dont have strength trained?

Or does "Magic attacks also get +1/3 damage (LS damage not affected) to bring them up to Melee standard." Offset this idea?

So then, the benefit would be a Mage would be able to use any melee or magic weapon as an option ?

Or do I have this wrong?

Thanks

Legendary Ash -> RE: Werepyre Question (6/27/2021 15:46:29)

The split of Stat damage and BtH between Str and Int along with Magic attacks get +1/3 damage is intended to allow the player with Hybrid stats to freely use Melee or Magic weapons without sacrificing damage.

A Warrior/Mage using the toggle without a Hybrid's complementary Int/Str will be worse off due to losing half effectiveness from not having a Stat damage/BtH secondary stat, which would be Int/Str replacing Dex.

The only equipment aspect that is worse with the Hybrid stat toggle is that Str/Int stat drives are halved in effectiveness since standard Str/Int/Cha equipment only have one primary stat in their stat damage formulas.

Sapphire -> RE: Werepyre Question (6/27/2021 16:31:37)

But if magic attacks get boosted to melee damage, a "dex-less" mage could also wield a melee weapon in these armors since the melee attack is getting half stat damage from INT, right?

While a hybrid maximizes it's damage in these armors, and can use a melee or magic weapon freely without sacrificing damage, so can a mage use a melee and magic weapon freely without sacrificing damage, no?

If that's the case, a mage isnt losing damage in werepyre armor either. I have been using the bloodblades and in magic mode and melee mode, the damage is the same, the accuracy is the same, etc. If I quadforce Strength, the damage goes way up. That's intended, I know.

What I'm curious about, is if I turn off hybrid mode, wouldn't stat damage on a mage go back to normal and the damage output just end up the same as hybrid mode? (in normal werepyre, as transforming automatically forces the toggle to hybrid stats)

Or am I wrong?

((Base accuracy + MainstatBtH + LukBtH)+Equipment BtH-Enemy Blocking)(Weapon base + Mainstat damage + Luk damage) = Neutral lean melee%

250 Str/Dex/Luk
((.5 + 500/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(50+250/200*38.5+250/200*11.5) = 102.234% melee

250 Str/Luk
((.5 + 250/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(50+250/200*38.5+250/200*11.5) = 81.141% melee

250 Int/Dex/Luk
((.5 + 500/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(.75(50+250/200*38.5)+250/200*11.5) = 79.942% melee

250 Int/Luk
((.5 + 250/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(.75(50+250/200*38.5)+250/200*11.5) = 63.447% melee

250 Str/Int/Luk with Hybrid stat toggled either Melee or Magic weapons
((.5 + 500/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(50+250/200*38.5+250/200*11.5) = 102.234% melee

250 (Str or Int)/Luk with Hybrid stat toggled either Melee or Magic weapons
((.5 + 250/200*.15 + 250/200*.05)-.02875)(50+125/200*38.5+250/200*11.5) = 63.785% melee

So, yes, example #4 and example #6 are nearly identical, like I was thinking. In fact, although unnoticeable, it's better.

So a 250 Int/Luk Mage can use melee weapons with the same efficiency as magic weapon in Werepyre, which is what I was gathering.

I'm not saying it's a better choice compared to Vampire. But being able to have access to melee weapons really opens things. Dragonlord sword is now a thing, for mages. Quadforce, and toggling on STR is now massively increasing damage, and sustainable.

The value of a 250 INT/Luk Mage is that if you look, Werepyre has guests, uses Charisma here and there in it's skills, and so a Lucky Beastmage might find some fantastic use out of it, even though the echo chamber crowd will drill into everyone "its a hybrid armor"

How much is a guest and pet worth, btw? Add that onto the Lucky Beastmage's 63.785% and maybe we begin to have something nice, no?

Legendary Ash -> RE: Werepyre Question (6/28/2021 2:46:46)

The melee% damage values for a player is 100%, a pet is 40% and a guest is 60%, however if a character has Luk, a guest will contribute less than the mentioned proportion since they do not receive Lucky strikes as intended by balance standards.

For 250 Cha/Luk a pet is 33.75% and a guest is 44.15625%.
For 250 Cha/Dex a pet is 34.34375% and a guest is 51.515625%.

Sapphire -> RE: Werepyre Question (6/28/2021 23:18:58)

Looks like it also boosts wands 33%
