The_element -> A Couple of Suggestions (7/5/2021 20:38:39)

Here are 3 suggestions that I feel would improve quality of life and world building of the game.

A) Quality of life change to status panel for resistances

With the recent changes to resistances, your total resistance does not indicate that you have reached the resistance cap and probably leads to confusion for players that do not read the design notes or are not active on the Discord. For example, in the resistances panel, it may state:

quote:

Resistances:

All: 50
Light: 55
Dark: 20

In the above, somebody might think that their total light resistance is 105 and not know that their functional resistance is 80. This is somewhat unintuitive and a possible method of rectifying this is by adding a description next to the resistance that has capped, for example:

quote:

Resistances:

All: 50
Light: 55 (Cap reached at 80)
Dark: 20

The choice of dialogue next to the resistance has been arbitrarily chosen, if you can find a more appropriate dialogue feel free to suggest it below.
For resistances that reach the 99 cap with status effects, such as with Necromancer’s ‘Shroud of the Undead’, maybe something like the following can be added:

quote:

Resistances:

All: 50
Light: 195 (Cap reached at 99 with status effects)
Dark: 20

B) Food that allows you to flee in combat

A second suggestion is that when you know you are losing a fight, for example in the inn, it can be really annoying to the play the fight out and it would be preferred to just reset the fight. I think it would be a nice addition to quality of life of players if a new food item called ‘rotten curry’ was added to the game, with an effect identical to Chicken Cow Lord’s flee attack.
There could be a popup that says, ‘You run to the nearest toilet! You feel really sick’. For thematic reasons it could sold from Gretel in Book 3 Falconreach.

C) Add more #fashionable NPCs for world building

My third suggestion is more aimed at Dove than Verlyrus. I’m a really big fan of world building and I feel like one of the best ways to convey world building is with aesthetics of NPCs. For example, it would be nice if designs from #fashion section in the Falcon’s Nest discord were used in areas, such as, Book 3 Dragonsgrasp.
Here are some of the art from the #fashion thread that I think would look nice in Book 3 Dragonsgrasp:

Note that Book3 Dragonsgrasp is just an example, I believe there are plenty of other areas where more aesthetic NPCs would fit in.

One QoL suggestion I think Verly took a liking for was giving us the option to toggle on/off those combat Pop-ups, as it can get pretty annoying when you play as an Atealan class, Necromancer and such having all of your atacks come with a Pop Up.
