Fear Engine: Storming the Boat

Hey hey hey there, heroes!

It's me, Verlyrus Dove!

This week, we're returning to the Fear Engine questline!

Last time, you've met Sirius, a Rune Arcanum from the southern continent, who was being chased by Feargeists. And where are Feargeists, there's the Phobeist, operating from the shadows, always with a new scheme up her sleeve.

Now, you and Sirius have to hurry and save his sister from the Phobeist's clutches, and put an end to her army of Fear creations!

Head over to Sirius (or the mysterious fog!) in Book 3 Falconreach to continue the Fear Engine in this week's quest: Storming the Boat!

In other news, we might have some quite exciting news regarding calendar classes!
More info coming soon™!

In other, other news, Verlyrus is still on vacations next week, so the probability of me breaking the game rises to 19%!

And that's all for this week!

Might want to make the quest available at night, The new quest not available at night but only in day setting

AstralCodex -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 1:28:54)

Cool quest. I really liked the new art on the boss, and the story got an interesting twist immediately, which is really cool!

Hope Verly enjoys his vacation. :)

Laeon val Observis -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 2:54:18)

Well, that was some turn of events. Nice cosmetic rewards, though.

@yjjoel26 as if this is the first quest that is locked in a specific time of day. While I can get the extra drama of having it done at night, it'll make me wonder how much sleep our hero is getting. Plus, it doesn't help that, according to the timeline, this is somewhere in between or after the Maleurous.

docblade -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 3:01:22)

I am asking myself only one thing.....

Does Verly just change into his vacation box or does he send himself to his destination?
Just kidding. Hope he has a good vacation.

Edit: This cosmetic cape goes REALLY well with Chaosweaver IMO

Dratomos -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 4:22:42)

What a wonderful surprise to have continuation to the "Sirius saga". It's funny that exactly one year ago, the first part was released. And this one didn't disappoint, I'm now much more invested to this storyline.

yjjoel26 -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 5:42:20)

@Laeon val Observis, I was wondering where the quest is again and I thought the mysterious fog will be situated at night so I was wandering in the night setting, and I thought need to redo the 1st quest again. when the new one didnt appear, I went back to day time and found the new quest

Faraam -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 8:01:07)

Nice to see Sirius getting some love again. And it manifests as a great quest? You got me; I am interested to see where this goes.

Is there a cosmetic cape? I have only gotten the visage of fear helm

AstralCodex -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 16:09:53)

There's a cosmetic cape, yeah

Kurtz96 -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 16:15:56)

I guess I have been unlucky then. 4 5runs and only helm.

Flabagast -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 20:50:40)

Well this certainly gives us some new insight!

spoiler:

It seems you gleaned over a few key details there, Sirius. :P
I think it's fair to say we now know who's been posting those signs on the notice board in the inn. "K" is Kassandra, the Phobeist; and the Hidebehinds, Drop Bears and the Tizheruk are her failed experiments that she got us to clean up.

And that thing she was holding looked a lot like the Warden of the Exaltia Tower with a different colour scheme. The Exalted certainly knew how to utilise mana in a unique way, and from what I've inferred about the Fear element being a form of raw mana, it seems that Kassandra's travels may have taken her to some strange places indeed.

Or it's simply a reused model and I'm direly overthinking this.

I'm looking forward to the rest of this questline!

Alm Nullamors -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/10/2021 22:25:08)

Well, that certainly throws the entire questline in a direction I hadn't been expecting. I can't wait to see what comes next now.

phwad -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/11/2021 15:39:09)

I know this may sound stupid, I forget where Sirius is. Where in Falconreach? Please help.

Howlleon -> RE: =DF= July 9th Design Notes: Fear Engine: Storming the Boat (7/11/2021 17:20:54)

As soon as you enter Falconreach, you head to the right, specifically to Cysero's shop, as soon as you get there you will see it on the left side of the door to that place.
