Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand

Hey there, heroes!

This month's Reimagined release is has arrived! The rewriting and replacing of Book 3's Espina Rosa arc has begun.

With the recruitment of the fairy princess, Melissa, new challenges for the Vind and Sulen'Eska have emerged. Challenges that the resistance may struggle to face alone.

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/SUPPLYDEMANDdn.png[/image]

The Vind is growing, and the resistance needs support. But where will you find it in a Greenguard overrun by The Rose?

'Supply and Demand' is accessible from Kara in Sulen'Eska! This quest's rewards feature "Saellah's Cape", now renamed to "Lost Woven Rose Cloak", and now with a level 90 version.

Also this month, we're beginning our re-release of old Calendar Classes with Reforged Chronomancer and Reforged Chronocorrupter!

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/CHRONO1PROMO.png[/image]

Reforged calendar classes will be available from Stryche in South Falconreach for either HeroPoints or Dragon Coins.
  • Each class will cost 4 HeroPoints or 4000 Dragon Coins, matching the base price of the HeroMart calendars.
  • Epoch will be a special case, that we are still working on the details of.
  • These Reforged classes will be the same skill-wise as the originals.
  • If you own the original, you'll recieve the Reforged version for free when on log in.
Note that these classes may recieve more changes/updates in the future as well.

Any changes or updates will affect both original and reforged versions of the classes.

We are also considering moving the HeroMart location to somewhere more accessible in the future!

Also this week, a number of bug fixes and updates!
  • Legion Crawler's stacking attack has been reworked. it now gains more attacks up to 3, after which it will directly add an additional 33% damage to each hit.
  • Fixed an issue where Boost was affecting weapon specials again.
  • Fixed an issue where completing a quest in the Rose or Dragonsgrasp camps would cause music to overlap.
  • Fixed an issue where using DragonLord's Wrath/Bulwark would give the UI to Mritha as well.
  • Fixed an issue where if you have no items in your inventory and move an item into your inventory, it would graphically move the item into the "default weapon" slot in the inventory.
  • Fixed a typo in the Shield skill of Chronocorruptor and Reforged Chronocorruptor where it said it gave +140 Avoidance, rather than +180.
  • The Greenscreen room now has new background colors!
Also, it's the final week for the Unity and North weapons before they leave for another year! Make sure to pick them up if you're interested.

And that's all for this week!

*large chorus of Chronomancers singing the Ode to Joy*

Howlleon -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/30/2021 20:25:17)

God! I already had a theory that this was going to happen, but not that it would happen in such a short time! They are also cheaper than I thought, uff, now I hesitate to buy either of the two.

Laeon val Observis -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/30/2021 20:32:11)

@above and I thought the hints from 2 releases ago were clear as daylight, with the means of acquisition being the only one left to the imagination. While I do understand the classical appeal (with a bit of chrome here, nonetheless) of CM and CC, I'll save the DCs for now until I see if they will be changed. The arms connoisseur in me tells me that their current skill states do have room for improvement (yes, I'm looking at the -Boost, -Bonus, and the Age skills), but not as much as how I think of how CZ must be changed to be appealing apart from being a modified Shadow Hunter.

This is pretty wild, can't wait to break these classes in, my only minor complaint is that the gear from Cysero's shop don't quit fit the colour schemes for these classes, if possible I would have like to have reforged variants of those as well, in an ideal world just having the original chronomancer would have resolved that but seeing as that won't happen I'll just have to figure out what other gear looks good with the reforged designs.

Roxas45 -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/30/2021 21:14:40)

Okay.
Small question...
Do we get free hero points like we did in AQW? Or do those carry over...? Cos I havent spent mine there, and I am thinking whether I should sell my Icebound Revenant and MAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Kathool adept for the 4 K I need to get either one of the classes (also... which one SHOULD I get?)

Considering that the classes right now are pretty... bad and that Kathool Adept is probably one of the most busted armors out right now (in terms of ridiculously good), I'd wait until other calendar classes get released or if these ever get touched up a little. Right now they're for nostalgia but since they're no longer rare that brings the possibility of them getting a balance pass.

Edit - I also love the implication that the hero canonically has a backpack that holds a cartoon level of items in the new quest. Maybe that's why they're the chosen one? They have the biggest backpack in lore?

AstralCodex -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/31/2021 0:39:20)

Yay, Chronomancer and Chronocorruptor are back! I bought them both as soon as I logged on. Even though they're not very good by modern standards, it's great to have them back. And as someone who's never had a chance to get either, it's nice to see the classes as is, if only for, like, curiosity or fashion's sake.

While I think the classes aren't really up to modern standards and are definitely more accessible than before, I still prefer that development time be spent on more accessible content than CM/CC.

I think that was my favourite part of the release xD

Also, I can't stop thinking the timing here was perfect, if not coincidentaly cheeky, "Supply and Demand", HMMMMMMMMM?

However, while it would be fun if they improve both Chronos, I do find these classes still quite viable. Remember Chronomancer have a 5-turns 40 boost, -35% dmg debuff, 20% HP heal, 5% mana regen, a nuke with an extra turn, a spammable 150% damage skill, a 3-turns stun, a 3-turns barrier that ALSO hurts, a Blind skill to boot AND a cooldown reset. This class is still packing quite a good punch.

Edit: and I can't wait to see how reforged Avatar of Time is gonna look :D

Dratomos -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/31/2021 2:21:53)

Oh what a wonderful thing is to finally have access to these classes. While I already own Chronocorruptor, the reforged version is a bit better looking. And that Chronomancer just looks so nice. Can't wait to play with them.

And it's nice to see Ash having a bigger role in the main story. Other than the Calamity saga, I feel like he has been very underutilized and it's nice to see him having more active role in these Reimagined quests.

elite dark slayer -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/31/2021 5:29:47)

If chronomancer and chronocorrupter don't hold up to modern standards (as some people in this thread are saying), what are the old calendar classes that I should be looking forward to the re-release of, as someone who never had the urge to buy a whole calendar (and pay shipping)?

ChronoEye -> RE: =DF= July 30th Design Notes:Book 3: Reimagined: Supply and Demand (7/31/2021 6:10:10)

The art for these Reforged Classes looks epic. But is there going to be a rework for the first two classes at least? Made me wondering! ( It's fine if not, it's nostalgia, after all. Though I'm sure people would prefer a rework. )

TimeKiller and the upcoming Reforged TimeKiller though, makes me excited, Once that happens, I do hope that class stays as it is, or becomes stronger! I'll definitely buy some Dragon Coins on my other characters once that comes true. If anything, TimeKiller has been, and always will be, the class I'll love, no matter if it's good or not. :)

EDIT:

@elite dark slayer: I would say, that depends on what you like and what not. If you're someone after story and wars ( like me ), TimeKiller will be one nice one to pick. I have so much experience from it from the release of the class to the day I got DoomKnight V1, it was so nice to use on multiple wars, fights against Baron Jaysun Valtrith, and even the day where we had the duo-fight against him and Caitiff!
