I don't know if you're still taking suggestions, but here's my suggestion for the pet:

If the armor gets the Ice backlash effect, my suggestion for the pet is a toggle between 3 modes: standard damage, +15% damage, +35% damage. The bonus damage is paid for with SP or, more interestingly, some sort of Fear effect that has a chance of being applied on the player each turn. (Pets/guests get reduced damage when the player's turn is skipped, so obviously this should be compensated for).

If the armor does not get the backlash effect, my suggestion for the pet is that it pays all of its damage for an Ice backlash effect.

As said you get no stat damage when stunned for your Pets and Guest if the pet was in Pure damage form. However i would really like if as an Ice Backlash Pet that comes with a small Fear on us each turn (20% chance for 1 turn of being Afraid) as flavor effect that increases its Ice Backlash Pet damage accordingly and wont suffer from the Stat damage loss as normal Pets would suffer. I just think if we go by flavor we should not lock Backlash only for top 15 since Backlash is already quite premium with Champion Sets and make it top 50. Backlashers would use the Pet even if they could lose their turn because Backlashers turns are mostly defensive while the rest of the Backlash effects are doing the offense.

Since Hollow said he's thinking about re-adjusting the armor, here's how I'd make the set work:

Weapon - A choice between the following interactions:
1. Infinitia Staff Clone, except for Ice. Melee/Ranged heals SP, Magic heals MP. 100-proc ranged version is retained, and works like the Dreamweaver Bows. A True Special proc would also heals SP/MP.
2. Passive Freeze Potency. Special increases freeze potency and/or inflicts a freeze.

Shield:
Change it to be an Ice clone of the Veywild Shield. +20 Potency to all effects that stun and change resistances. Take out the FSB from the Shield.

Armor - A few changes:
1. Remove the Backlash Mode.
2. Move the FSB to the Armor. When the FSB is activated, reduce the cost of the Freeze Skill.
3. Lock attacks to Ice with the appropriate EleComp on regular attacks.

Pet - Toggleable
1. Inflict Freeze on attack (Default)
2. SP Regen Mode, either with no attack, or heal after the pet attack. When the monster is frozen, you regenerate more SP.

Misc - No Change necessary here. I would keep this as is.

@PD no thanks? it looks great to me, not need rework on it but need work on pet to put it full backlash

One of the flaws with these items lies in the shield where you have to have the full set essentially to get the best effect but with the armor limited to 15 people, it's a bit lackluster. And even if you can transfer gear through use of a shop coming later it's still used among alts of 15 people so not that amazing. I really do think the shield should be reworked to have some effect on a block that is similar to what else is found on the set. Maybe ice elevuln or possibly a freeze? Or make the shield work with something else. Could go shield/misc where equipped shield is able to boost damage you inflict on an ice backlash.

@PD Hollow mentioned tweaks to the set, not the entire redesign of the set based on another mechanics/status

If it's not too much to ask for, would it be possible to get rid of the potency of the shield and instead have a new effect? I was thinking of a toggle that trades all of the shield's MRM for an ice backlash effect. Though this would mean that the FSB would have to be changed and I'm not sure what it could be changed to.

Sapphire -> RE: =AQ= Frostwyrm Rider Set Contest Suggestions (9/14/2021 10:20:06)

I think the shield should just be moving the same potency it has to -10, then lower MRM to 8-7-7 like doomlight and I think it should be fine.

If you compare it to doomlight after that, you have the same MRM and resist on both, but doomlight gets backlash potency and actual backlash, whereas this would get a better version of backlash potency...as backlash potency in theory is included, but its more broad for other effects..and it gets nothing else.

To me, that seems fair. The problem I have right now is unless I missed it, I still don't know what the current effect actually helps. I want a total list of things it helps inflict to gain a better understanding of how good or not good the shield is. We can guess using common sense all we want, but I still want an official explanation...ie the info subs is not detailed enough.

For FSB, we tend to take one item and give it something. Why not take all the items and give them a small tweak for a FSB, so that collectively its adds up.

Or what about this? So we have Armor, Weapon, Shield, Pet, Misc.... Maybe for very item equipped, you gain 10% more damage or effect...

So If I have the armor and pet, the pets gets 10%, the armor gets 10%. If I have the weapon and misc, the weapon get 10%, the misc gets 10%. 3 items is 10% on 3 items.

That way you still get partial FSB no matter what, and the FSB rewards for higher donations...

If I won the armor, I also get all the items so therefore, my donations also granted me 10% over 5 items.

I personally won 2 of the items. So if I have the shield and the misc equipped, the shield gets 10% better effect, and the misc is 10% better damage on both ice mode and backlash mode. Make it linear to the number of items you have, rewarding the donation winners not too unlike the actual items you recieved...

And do this in addition to the shield suggestion Ive made.
