The problem is nearly every storyline is just fighting bad dudes to save something, with some ancient powerful mystical whoever specced on top. This is why Darkon's releases are so sought after, he mixed it up a bit with some moral ambiguity and crypticism. And this is why I like Memet, she just wants to have fun and her releases reflect that. We need more fun and goofy stuff, not just 'core' storyline on top of 'core' storyline. (btw, Memento was nice, top Harvest release contender). And trust me when I say that, I really wanted to do some more different things, villains with a tragic backstory, antagonists that are not evil, but with another point of view, even someone stuck in a self-fulfilling prophecy where all his actions to avoid disaster actualy hasten its arrival! But alas, it was not meant to be. And I too wanted a lot of fun and goofy releases to boot, just like my first one, Third Spell from the Sun was the "classic AE shenanigans", I had a lot in mind of it too. Plus I admit my writting style aims to a lot of slapstick, physical humour and running gags. And I'm glad you enjoyed Memento ^^ I was brainstorming a Dia de Los Muertos release for YEARS! quote:
So you can just up and send a story draft to them and maybe they can circle back if they like it? Interesting. Not that I would ever let them lay a hand on my Lukrecia but good to know. More or less, that was from the time I was a developer, I would see where the schedule had room for me, I would write something on my own or asked to (such as /Frostspectre and /Necronaut, another release I wrote, both supposed to be a "warm up" for their seasonal events with fetch-quests through old content, I like these quests that goes through past events :D) *fun fact, Necronaut's NPC, Remco, was named after Remco Van Den Bosch, great astronomer and lead for the team that discovered the biggest Black Hole up to date
