Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself!

Hey there, heroes!

Thankstaking has come once again to Falconreach... and with it, the wonderful sounds of... arguing?

Everyone's helping to prepare the annual traditional feast, but Ruby and Gretel seem to have some... disagreements.

Looks like it's up to you (like always) to help out and solve their problem!

Check out this year's Thankstaking festivities in the Book of Lore!

Our Black Friday sales are now here for this week only!

The House Utility items are 50% off, and new Black Friday exclusive house items have arrived. The Pile of Gold and Pile of Dragon Coins will change appearance based on how much gold/DCs you're carrying!

Also this week, Reforged Avatar of Time has arrived in the Time Shop at Stryche.

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/AoTREFORGED.png[/image]

It's certainly very sparkly, and quite powerful!

If you own the original Avatar of Time, you'll get the Reforged version for free when you log in on your character that owns it.

Finally, the Build/Outfit system has received some adjustments.

The interface has been cleaned up.

Builds and outfits, when selected, will automatically display their contents in the inventory screen (The same as searching for that specific build).

Next, build and outfit selection no longer persists between inventory sessions.

Notifications have been adjusted.

Default build/outfit is marked by a golden ring around the build/outfit button.

Inventory search is now automatic, and will process as you type without the need to press enter. (This will be added to Bank searching in the future, as well).

Thank you for all the feedback, and suggestions, and please, keep it up! There's still work to be done on it.

And... what's this? Some of ShadowHunter's tools of the trade?

Oh that interface is really nice addition. I like it more and more, I guess I'll finally start using inventory swapping as well.

spoiler:

As for the quest, it was pleasent little one. Five enemies now? That's interesting. Seeing Gaelan's home and some new things in Azaveyr was certainly nice.

Koh -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/26/2021 20:18:29)

So I got Reforged Avatar of Time and for some reason it's not in the Armor Closest. Looks great though.

Laeon val Observis -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/26/2021 20:25:18)

Well, Thankstaking is still in a relative peacetime, though the new quest sets my otaku into overdrive (had to resist hollering ekusupuroshon, sutiiru, or kuintetto uooru).
spoiler:

KAA and CVW will have the best AoEs to explosion the cabbages to kingdom come simultaneously. All of them (the cabbage party) posses a party kill check that endows survivors with 15x AllRes, where x is the number of downed cabbages.

As for the multi-save slots revision, pretty welcome, especially now you'll know which items you saved for what builds.

@Koh, have you tried checking if Avatar of Time (yes, the one w/o reforged in name) is in Armor closet? If not, LO and cache clear, then LI and check closet again for any hint of AoT. If not resolved, bug report submission it is.

Koh -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/26/2021 21:05:55)

Yes @Laeon val Observis, I have cleared my cashe and it hasn't done anything. I can save the class with Orb of Saving no problem but it doesn't show up in the closet, not even the original, though I doubt that would've show up since I didn't get the calendar.

Verlyrus -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/26/2021 22:24:23)

Reforged AoT will be going into the closet next week, unless I forget.

Alm Nullamors -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/26/2021 23:40:30)

Methinks the hero needs a good lie down after this one. Poor bugger sounds like their brain is about to snap.

Primate Murder -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 1:08:28)

@Laeon
spoiler:

I've found that Wrath DL works nicely. Shield, Breath*2, Water, Breath*2.

Laeon val Observis -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 2:31:44)

^Yeah, was just about to name a few other classes on that (4 more, actually).

AstralCodex -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 4:50:50)

I really, really like the new inventory system. My favorite part is that the gear you want to load gets displayed once you click the slot, which reduces gearswap mistakes. Super big kudos the devs!

If I had to nitpick the system, I wish that Pet Dragon wasn't saved in (non-default) "build" gearsets, since there's no visual indicator if Dragon has been saved, leading to cases where the player will accidentally summon their pet Dragon unintentionally while having another pet equipped. I also think that having an in-game tutorial for it would be super nice, since it's still a bit unintuitive. I also can't think of any cases where I'd use anywhere near the full 10 outfit slots, since most of the fashion sets I use require me to visit the armor closet.

Also, cute quest, I love the little Cabbage monsters :D

Flabagast -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 6:13:56)

The updated gear saving system is superb, and it'd be great to be able to see which builds have the pet Dragon saved to them, as Astralcodex has said.

spoiler:

It was interesting to get a little more insight into Gaelan's backstory too. I actually forgot he was supposed to become a Magester, but changed his mind when he found out about the Ignominious. He must have found a way to escape and had to cut all ties with his family in the process, and I suppose he can't risk ever seeing or communicating with them again.

GLaDOS -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 7:17:42)

Man, that sure was a wholesome quest! I love the fact that even though it isn't part of the main storyline, it still has just as much attention and unique DF charm put into it.

Koh -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/27/2021 21:54:47)

alright thanks for the information Verlyrus

raylas -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (11/30/2021 19:32:43)

Verly, if it's not too much trouble, and please I do mean that, is it possible to put in some sort of way to toggle multi-element weapons, like the dragon-scythes, in Reforged Avatar Of Time?

It's one of the most useful weapons in the game and it can't be used proper-like with the class, which is a bit of a sticking point in an otherwise perfect armor.

Anything you can do?

1girlhousefan -> RE: =DF= November 26th Design Notes: Thankstaking 2021: Stew It Yourself! (12/1/2021 1:55:34)

The cabbages are adorable.
