Sapphire -> Blocking/hit rate (12/6/2021 8:46:40)

I was curious.

1. Hit rate is assumed to be 85%. Is this pure build vs pure build monsters?

2. Since many modern monsters have increasingly been given 275 mainstat, does this increase their hit rate? Or does this get them to 85%? Or are there some other hardcoded things involved for monster accuracy?

3. What is the assumed blocking number when in an armor/shield (MRM) to be the standard to get exactly 85%?

4. How much combined MRM boost, bth loss, etc is needed pure build versus pure build to drive 85% hit rate to 0%. ?

Thanks

Edit-> Just built a quick and dirty excel spreadsheet using formulas in the Master Formulae thread to get some theoretical numbers. The only thing that's kind of a big unknown for me, which I have a slot for, is if when we are dealing with monsters, if monster BTH is coded *exactly* like player BTH, or if there's some other hidden mods we don't see.

That way I can plug in some theoretical scenarios and get a good idea on some things I want to know.

Legendary Ash -> RE: Blocking/hit rate (12/6/2021 14:17:50)

In balance assumptions builds are always pure, hybrid builds meaning more than one Mainstat are not assumed.
Accuracy was approximately 85% at the old stat cap of 200 for the player, for the enemy it is lower as players have the additional MRM of a shield.
Stat formulas are the same for both player and monsters, therefore one can predict what a higher stat means for the latter, the higher than 250 for Mainstat standard existed since 2012, it isn't as you believe it to be increasingly frequent in recent years.
Monster blocking wasn't increased to compensate when the stat cap was raised to 250, thus player accuracy increased.
Accuracy scaling standards progressively become more strict as a player progresses from Level 1 to 150, as more stat points are unlocked accuracy is increasingly tied to the stats expected at one's level, thus at each level the different base BtH and blocking as well as stats must be accounted for to calculate what is required to meet the assumed 85%.

Does standard monster bth mirror same player level assumed armor + weapon bth? ..ie 19 weapon + 19 armor, or 38 total BTH (no special)? Is that what you meant in the last sentence?

Also, I wasn't trying to say "modern monsters" having 275 stat was something brand new or anything like that. Was just words .

Although no monster BRS% and BtH was ever made public, calculations made with player base equipment standards and monster specific stat builds have matched the accuracy used to determine the power of effects applied on blocks from shields.
