Armor lean affects elecomp for spell-type skills.
Necromancer cloak's spellcaster lean causes (monster attacks deal 1.25x damage, your armor attacks deal 1x damage, your spells deal 1.35x damage)
For spellcaster lean is it treated as 1 armor lean, 1.25 armor lean, or 1.35 armor lean for elecomp calculations?

Considering that normal spells ignore armor lean. What is the reason that spell-type skills get armor lean factored into elecomp?

The monster has darkness attacks. That means it's defense is also best against darkness. It is likely weakest against light.

It is assumed you will choose an armor that defends best against darkness.

If there is a spell built into the armor that is the same element that's it's defending against, and thus, the monster is best at, that spell will receive a boost to damage to make it worth using, and that boost is called elecomp.

It's like pyromancer bloodmage defends best against fire, and has fire spell built-in. So that spell gets the ele comp boost.

The amount of ele comp depends on the elemental wheel. Same element as what your'e best at defending against gets the highest, and then you generally have 2 elements considered "aligned", either 2 or 3 "neutral", which would get a smaller boost, and two or three "opposing" which IDK if they get anything or small one. You don't see that too much, so I'm not sure on opposing.

I have never honestly looked at the specific details on ele comps. But in general, that's how it works.
