spirit of greed -> Alternative timelines/universes (12/23/2021 14:30:39)

After watching the new Spider-Man movie i was doing some challenges in The Inn at the Edge of Time and i went and spoke to the other heroes, listened to all the spoilers and i realized how much interesting Alternative timelines are (especially the death knight hero who resurrected all of Falconreach, a villain "hero" sounds really interesting).
I wish we could visit other timelines to see the differences, maybe help fix some of them for example:
- a timeline where the Shadowscythe won
- another where Tomix is evil and the corrupted spirits which he summoned are good and try to stop him / - one where the spirits killed him before he could stop and seal them
- one where the hero is evil
- one is where he's dead
-one where magic doesn't exist and the people of lore instead of using science which became incredibly advanced
- one where all the villains teamed up and actually won and divided lore between themselves
-one where our enemies (Sepulchure,Xan,the Shadowscythe, etc..) are the good guys and our friends (Warlic,Artix, Alina, Ash) are the bad ones
- one where instead of the Rose capturing/killing all magic users it's the opposite:most of the magic creatures/monsters/dragons rebelled and captured/killed most of the humans with only a few remaining loyal to them
- one where our dragon was killed
-one where the sun was destroyed/eaten killing most of the people with only a few surviving with the help of magic and science

What do you guys think? Would you like to visit other timelines/universes? How much would they differ? What's you ideas for alternative timelines/universes?

Interesting a concept, indeed. However, it also downplays the headache that was warned by the Ancient One that the knowledge of infinite multiverses also comes with the knowledge of infinite dangers. Perhaps as a side content to substitute for the Inn (or a possible integration if the monotony of challenges is starting to get into one's head) it might have room. Realistically -that is, for canonical (character) growth- a dangerous plot device that can work just as a deadly turnoff as much as a well-structured deus ex machina. Does it reach lostbelt threat levels? Is an alternate version of us trying to pull a UBW Archer on us (woe betide if they're EMIYA Alter in disillusionment)? Do we really need an MQ-class reset event? Those are the real questions to ask. If it was to overcome a trauma, I'd rather have some BARF rather than screw with continuum probabilities. A what-if scenario to save somebody that has already happened? Mostly self-gratification as it will normally only create a branch reality that'll flow separately from our origin reality (and can come with Homura or Elaina traumas depending on the scenario). How about a preemptive infliction of justice? Morally dubious at best, if not as self-gratifying as the previous example scenario. In short, I'd rather not face up against something outside our segment of the multiverse unless it really directly threatens our existence. Lore still has plenty of horrors in store even without having to mess with spacetime, so I'd rather have our hero measure the necessity of saving as many as possible instead of everything and risk biting more than what can be chewed and result is breakdowns such as the bad end when we make our choice on which Proclamation War faction to assist.
