The shieldcakes + the booster spells does the following. Its an average. So one item is 3 rounds and another is 1. Combined, thats 4 rounds. Add up the total of the 3 rounder and the 1 rounder and average for 4 rounds. So 105 + 105 + 105 + 125.562 or 159.87and then /4. That's what happens.
Blinds, they're different I believe. You'll get a rate of diminishing returns. Some blinds last a longer time, but are weaker in status, and others are stronger in status but last for a small amount of turns. There are some that are good with both at the cost of damage.
Blinds also get affected by the elemental mod of the monster. Mixing blinds from multiple sources takes into account multiple resistances.
Mandate can give you 30 blind @ 100% earth for 6 rounds. A 2nd cast will result in 60 if you celerity. A third would go to 90, but since you cant go more than twice, 6 rounds of mandate become 5 due to the monsters turn, so another infliction adds a round, and therefore, the blind add-on is weaker. It ends up a few points less.
