PD -> RE: =AQ= House Guard and Estate Updates & Bug Fixes (4/8/2022 2:59:25)

^^ They should probably fix that because you can't figure that out unless you'd had fiddled with the menu for a good while before you were able to see that you could even do that. Certainly that's not intuitive and not a workable UI. Otherwise that's not really an acceptable thing to let around. Also, a general reflection of the much-prolonged Blarney war at this point (and in extension, the estate update in general), I really hoped they'd fixed how war waves are doled out from war portals. They did not do this at the time of this thread, though I hope there's another update in the wakes that would *actually* do this. In addition to the previous comments about how the auto-send feature is now extremely slow with full resources, there's still the gaps that exist that: (which I have noted before, but feel that I must do this again because this recent war has made this even more apparent) 1. gives you way more rewards with a half-send versus full-send. Full send should give you more, and these numbers should be consistent enough. Otherwise it's an annoyance that people have to either resort to extra-official means or go through repetitive clicking to get optimal rewards by spamming half-sends until you run out. There's also been requests (which I'd wanted too) to be able to auto-convert resources when detected (a certain popular tool exists out there that already does this). At this point the only reason I don't exploit this is because doing this would trigger carpal tunnel in the long run of things. 2. caps army send rewards at 7 reputation instead of 10. Why would we possibly want to discourage people from getting max reputation? This makes no actual sense. It's like if AQW's decided to give you everything at rank 7, but any more and they start locking rewards from you again. And in addition to this point, that Trescol gives better rewards than Kairula, yet both are still priced the same. 3. Also regarding the resource conversion, the way that it was done generally is not a good workflow. I would have preferred if they'd just extended the options in the selectable menu with the already existing options of 25-50-150-300. Certainly there's space in the UI to do this. I think it would have also been a lot less work while delivering the same value too. Not only were we at release unable to even use the trade function because of the upgrade timer lock, when we actually got to use it, it became clear the higher count UI was very complicated to use. 4. That the upgrade timers weren't even touched during the update, which is an extension of the above point. With the time it takes to upgrade things, there was no way people were going to be able to have even be able to use these new features without waiting. And I really have to ask, *why* the timers? Do they actually give any value at this point? Otherwise they just encourage people even more to wait out until Black Friday because they know estate items cannot immediately realize their full value until weeks or even months or possibly even longer if they're not attentive to their estates every day. 5. That the Painting scrolling bug wasn't actually fixed. It has solved the issue of us seeing extremely fast moving picture (which could be seizure inducing if you'd visited the estate more than once in a session), but you still have to wait until the blank screen turns into a portrait, and you aren't able to see anything until it stops being blank which is the same amount of time that it used to be before you could actually select a painting. It's just hidden from view now, not actually fixed. But the bug still exists. And navigation of paintings is still bothersome. I have gained a general reputation in the community for being a complainer (Probably deservedly, though I will say, I do this because I like AQ and I want to see it do good things for us.). I don't want to say the estate update didn't have a lot of value in retrospect despite my points above. It did do some good, but it also left out a lot of gaps that people were asking for, only for them to not be implemented. Yet I cannot be the only one who is disappointed with the way that estates were updated and continue to function. We've never actually had the chance to give proper feedback until it's already done and no other major (but often necessary) changes can be made. While I do like it when areas of the game get updates like this, I have to wonder if new always means better. Forcing upon us a new UI which functions worse than it used to seems to be a poor allocation of resources, at least in my perspective.
