I don’t mean in gameplay, I mean in-lore. For example: we may not be able to raise an undead army in game as a Necromancer but in lore we certainly could.

Raising armies, undead or golem, is fun and all until you need to find the resources to summon them (e.g. a graveyard or an ancient battlefield) if Zorbak's dialogues during Calamity and how Vayle reanimated Edgar are concerned. Nonetheless, necromantic hexes should be mean stuff to keep your foes preoccupied.

Cryptics, I would say, can be a definite threat. Nothing would scare bladebrains and mages alike than something that addles with their heads.

Chronomancy could hold a high spot if we only see one in action. Then again, time is a powerful natural force to wield, so it won't be surprising if they are that reserved. If they do pop up... at the most basic level, wanna be in the front row seat of how Dio Brando and Dimaria Yesta messed with their adversaries?

Spirit weaving would be quite a contender when souls are concerned. Want an afterlife? Better make sure you're not on the bad side of someone swift, wearing one of the most durable materials in known Lore, and can shred souls into oblivion.

^Uh... just to confirm. You did read the part that states I don't mean in gameplay? No matter how I look at it, Archi is an oddball among the chronomantic branches, almost akin to loremasters. So unless you can justify that Archi is something similar to Raziel/Beelzebub (with Date A Live S4 just around the corner, I shan't spoil what that angel/devil's power is), I don't see how it can compete with its more offensive brethren.

Well, Avatar of Time does literally make you a god (or at least something godlike), hence why one runs the Inn at the Edge of Time. So that one probably wins for the 'most power' category.

For in-canon classes though, I'd say that either Soul Weaver or Dragonlord would make the Hero specifically the most powerful version of themselves. As laeon said, you don't want to mess with someone who could potentially deny you an afterlife if indeed they can actually destroy souls. Similarly, you dont want to mess with someone whos bestie is a (potentially) several stories tall world destroying flying magical lizard.

I would say Soul Weaver and Fleshweavers, since we saw those in action and how destructive they can be. I mean, what would stop a deranged one from doing Stanislav's last Will in a whole village in the middle of the night? What are the defenses against meddling with your flesh and soul when all it takes is a wave of a finger to rearrange your brain or suck your soul out of your body? And even without resorting to such invasive actions, Soulweavers can easily go full "Green Lantern" and make weapons out of thin air and Fleshweavers? Suddenly the Dark Triad's "Flesh/Blood/Bone Magic" in Black Clover comes to mind and its a very scary concept.
