The Hollow -> =AQ= Battle Log Preview (3/22/2022 16:42:12)

The Battle Log project Spider has been working on is getting bumped up to this week since he and IMR need to work on the same file as she updates the stats this week! The Battle Log can be turned on/off under More Options, along with settings for font size, and the ability to resize, collapse, and move it anywhere on screen.

The Battle Log currently displays:
  • All popups
  • Player/mob turns
  • Any hp/mp/sp lost or gained during a turn, or from other sources like the fountain in Battleon
  • Status effects
  • Whether a player wins or loses

    Is there any other info you would like to see during battles?

    Would it be scrollable or only show the last X amount?

    Would it be possible to specify what source of the damage and the element? Say you have Bleed and burn on the monster, and you want to see how much each did, you could reference the log.

    Monster tags could also be nice to have on it.

    Very cool feature.

    Maybe effects based damage, quick casts and other effects logged? Maybe it could say Enemy takes 125 burn damage. It would be nice for multiple DoT effects and you're not sure what damage came from what since it's so fast you just don't know.

    Would be nice to know whats better..burns, bleeds, poisons, and other stuff. Maybe even multiple sources like dodgelash and backlash could be listed separately .

    I would also list the element and type.

    Maybe the enemy took "350 Fire weapon damage"

    Just be more specific

    But VERY cool feature. Just make it cooler with my idea!

    I think it would be interesting to see total damage per hit from player, guests, pets and monsters.
    In addition, any rolls performed (hit rolls, special chance, inflicting of status effects, breaking free from status effects, etc.), would also be quite interesting to see.

    For both of these, I would like to see both the total number, but also how much of that number is attributed to stats and effects.
    For the rolls, I think it should show not only the number rolled, but also the required value to pass the roll (along with the stat modifications for both values).

    Love this. Often times when stacking multiple effects I often have to use a calculator to understand what came from where, or I have to backtrack on a notepad to figure things out. This will definitely make it easier to understand battles.

    Same. I tried calculating without using a calculator this morning and it didn't end well. There's so much I still don't understand and this would definitely help.

    This is fantastic! May I suggest add the player's name and level and same for the enemy?
    Also is it possible for an export button to save to text file??

    But more seriously, how about tracking our gold(definitely) XP caps(maybe)? Like, showing what percentage of our daily cap we're at after the battle- i.e. 25% daily cap, 69% daily cap, etc. You currently have to track these things with third party resources, which not everyone knows where to find. While they aren't technically essential, they would be useful to help plan and manage your time investment into the game.

    Might I also suggest showing when it's a lucky/unlucky strike, like differentiate it from regular damage

    This is a really fantastic idea.

    Personally I would love to see stat rolls for your bth, blocking and also when trying to inflict some kind of status on a monster and vice versa.

    I think this in turn could help us to detect items that have incorrect status infliction rates in game, because I have a hunch that some items are not working as they should, and with a game log it will be easy to post it in the bugs section and get it amended by the staff once they have time for it. [:)]

    A scrolling function on it.

    Edit: the ability for the pop-ups to be turned off if you have the battle log active. Right now the pop-ups are way too obstructive, y'all over-corrected on those. [:)]
