It would be cool if there was a stackable inventory/bank item that would be activatable and converted into a food/temp item.

Why?
Food spoils when the player logs out. This is an alternative approach to food.

How?

The 'destroy' button would trigger the game mechanisms and add the food to the temp items.

Where?
Perhaps as an endgame drop or a side quest. It could also be purchased with defender's medals

When?
Whenever this is considered as a good concept.

Where asteroid?
There is no asteroid.

I'm not a programmer so I don't know how hard it would be to implement something like this, but I can only hope.

Interesting, but unnecessarily complex. Since food items are optional anyway and 2 of 4 food items high up on the player's choice (Seaweed, Rotten Hardtack, Red Fruit, Fried Zard Legs+) can be acquired with a bit of diving (Pirates can even plunder along the way for a no-cost capping of potions), why not just convert them back to DMs? At the end of the day, Foods currently are the last purpose DMs have left once a player has acquired his/her desired DM equippables.

"Permanent" food is a project that I've been meaning to work on for quite a while now. Had some foundations laid for it and everything, but I haven't had the time to actually set things up and work on it yet.
