PD -> RE: LTS Update Discussion (5/5/2022 20:36:14)

Since I'm the one who originally thought of this, I'll say this... On the first point, Torontosaurus Rex should really be in the Memorial Shop. It was made to celebrate Canada winning an NBA finals in 2019. Though I realize a lot of the reasons it's still there is because it's apparently impossible to move items around shops without Captain's help. Thus it'll probably stay there forever unless the Captain somehow gets to do things. On that front if he can he needs to make tools so it's easier to do the things that would normally require his presence. That is the most high-value thing can be done in general. Not just simply "do this and do that" for me, but actually building work that will make it so that the things that are hard to do right now become easy to do. I made this line of thought was because yes the shop is getting too big. Not to mention that those items aren't easily accessible outside of those times. If we had it so that the LTS was a portal like the Events button, then we'd be able to better organize things. Also, I've been asking for a way to get these specific items outside of their allotted time of the year, because they are seasonal items. It seems off that there are seasonal events that don't have a portal to to them to access them later going by the rule of other re-occuring content like Void Rotations and Seasonals. Going by this, there should shops + portals for: New Years / 4oJ Mother's Day Moving all the current Star Wars themed items to the Starslayer shop. Then there are those items like the Light of Destiny/Zealots that aren't easily "themed". Those could probably just be in a general shop called "Promos". But the biggest point of this was so that we could continue the discussions on QoL / Anti-Annoyance. And I had an idea of how we'd do this; something along the lines of this (which is really just the UI of a Holiday Portal, except it's more or less a hub of hubs that appropriately enables/disables events from a calendar value). Then you could just link this hub in the Events Page while just having a promo banner telling us what's available when the times are right. It'll be an extremely high-value feature that will not have to be actively maintained, not to mention a very strong opportunity to monetize (which really, AQ needs much more money). Ideally every QOL/Anti-Annoyance update should be that where you make it very robust and not have to do much more work with. Though unfortunately a lot of the updates this year have been more or less half-measures with necessary changes still undone and requiring a revisiting of. Not of the AQ team's fault because of their limited time of course but it's still worth thinking about when you're on a budget and you're trying to think about how to get the most mileage out of the limited time you have.
