What are the best pets for hybrid builds? I guess it might be something that induces panic, or makes use of panic like the Fae Wanderer, but I don't really know anything suitable for hybrid other than Fae Wanderer.

Not quite. I have them spread out on STR, INT, CHA and LUK. I don't mind changing my stats to suit the Hybrid build better though.

Well, if you want the dime-store advice, depending on if your CHA is closer to 0 or 250 will help determine if you want to grab the Beastmaster recommended pets or the general pets. I use the Adventure Quest wikia myself for quick references or I believe the guides section of the forum has some info, though I don't know how current those are. If you want more useful advice, Primate and Ash give good advice, though Ash tends towards a more game formula answer. End of the day though, going with what you like despite it not being the 'best' is never a bad thing here.

There are no true hybrid pets as in those that use both Str and Int at the same time for their stat damage, however mana regeneration pets can support hybrid classes/subraces such as Werepyre that splits costs between Sp and Mp while (Champion) Holy Armor's skills scale to Mainstat can toggle between Sp and Mp costs.

Any one of the elemental Godmother pets from the Limited Time shop on Mother's day can serve this purpose as they all share two modes, Hp and Mp healing.

Abyssal Undead Hydra toggles between Damage/43.5% Daze from Dragonlorn Keep V: Forlorn Wake
Baby Egg toggles between Damage reduction/43.5% Paralysis with 8 Elemental Variants from Grenwog Egg shops, leaves on this week's release
Gym Rat toggles between Damage/38.93% +10 BtH lean Daze from The Waning of Famine
Stunning Diamond Dog toggles between Damage/43.5% Paralysis from Void Challenge Rotation/ Happy Cloud toggles between Damage/38.93% +10 BtH lean Daze from Snugglefest
Sunless Undead Hydra toggles between Damage/43.5% Daze from Dragonlorn Keep V: Forlorn Wake/ Undead Sneak toggles between Damage/43.5% Paralysis from Raiders of the Lost Yolk
