I'm just worried the staff are going to have to dedicate another week to completely redo it once Dex is updated.

I'm excited for ranger builds with this update. But as of now, I'm enjoying not needing DEX for accuracy anymore so hope they don't bring that in for non-DEX builds

It was never released. I was teased for years (even earlier than Archmage according to the way back machine), but never came.

Interesting we are getting this now. I thought like above DEX still had some work so this wasn't going to be a thing for awhile but color me wrong! I hope they'll also do the other base class revamps because quite frankly they are also some of the most infuriating experiences to have to go through in the game. At this point I'm not even interested in the actual class equipment more than I am about them fixing the experience of leveling and unlocking class questing. Hopefully as a base class Archer won't be too difficult to get progression on early. A strong base class can make for a much better playing experience early on.

This is looking like a Friday release at the earliest. So the House Guard Sale and Bonus XP/Gold have been extended to June 3rd. No specific time so don't delay!

I actually forgot about the House Guard Sale, although is there any cheap/efficient sets of Z-token house guards that aren't the Shadow Guards from LOL? Maybe Guard Dogs (lvl 90, 900Z) / Drakel Bouncers (lvl 105, 1350Z)? Estate defense is a function of Guard levels IIRC?

EDIT: Looks like the answer will be to purchase the 2nd highest tier of shadows, but I think I'll hold for BF on that one.




A separate point of discussion that I realize might be of some value: Because of this extension of the boost period, I think it might justify a conversation around possibly increasing the X-Guardian Gold Boost. Currently it is at just +10% Reward + additional Cap and only applies to 1 character. However Spirits of X also offer this, but can also be transferred to multiple characters at a time. While X-boost is either $24.95 or $9.95 (or $29.90 if you get it much later as a combined thing), Spirits of X are always $19.95. Perhaps some may still consider X-boost still better in this regard because it doesn't take a slot. Which is a fair point to consider but one can also swap out miscs as needed so it isn't a straight sacrifice either. In my opinion anyways it seems that the X-Boost upgrade could ironically use a boost to make it competitive versus the Spirits of X.

Maybe we ought to tinker around with making the Gold Boost from X-Guardian perhaps +15% or even +20% from the current +10%. I'll admit part of this is me being extra motivated to get gold because of contests but this current Boost period made me really think about the efficacy of X-Boost vs. Spirits. Making a small change to X-Boost also fix the issue of being viewed as "worthless" after you hit the level cap. I do realize there's an update in the wings around fixing gold/exp caps and rewards, but I think this is a tiny consideration that for now would be easier to do.

A little late but thanks IMR for the bug fix!

While we wait for the release today, I'm sure these will be answered today but my biggest hopes:

1. Hopefully passing rolls isn't strictly required like the Tier 3 training.

2. Will the new base classes be only trainable to 5 levels or is it still the normal 10 but you only get a new skill every other level?

3. Is there going to be a "final quest" that unlocks special armors/skills?




Also, just a side note it seems that the Boost period overran to earlier today, but since I've already capped for the day is it still active, or is it now over? Should we assume either way that it will end when the release is finally live if it still is active?

Right, the boosts and House Guard sale stuck around until the release was live. Both have ended now as Robina Hood has opened up her Archery Range!

Sad, I'm gonna miss the boost period :(

But anyways, loving the release. Maybe just a few more things here and there and I may actually switch to a Ranger build. A few thoughts:

1. I didn't pass a single DEX Roll and managed to get to class level 5! But I still zoomed through the quest training. But the biggest win here is no longer needing to pass the rolls to progress.

2. Interesting how I didn't need to change my class to Ranger to train it. It doesn't look like it improves or does anything by switching to Ranger though.

3. The last skill with the double attack is interesting to say the least. Some items may have interesting interactions by being able to double-attack. I could think of items like Eclipsed Dragonlord Bow being able to get double the SP healing from the turn, to some burn weapons being able to get double burn stacks.

4. The other two skills to inflict bleed and poison as well. If you have a 100-proc that inflicts a bleed or burn, you can also get more stacks from these skills.

5. So it seems that the "Base" classes are no longer proper "classes". It was noted that we are in the middle of more planned stat changes but focusing these on just the damage and not the stats themselves seems to be able to resolve the tension for now.

This class has engouraged me to just say add int instead of paying high sp skills for rangers (it is high if you disagree I know your a mage)

Thoughts on the class:

I love the armor design, and especially the owl. So cute, omg. And the potion animation? Ugh. Having a CC token version is also very much appreciated. Great job Team AQ.

The quest was also pretty funny. Poor Chosen --- the things we do for class skills.

Class is excellent for 100 proc users. It's basically guaranteed celerity that works with celerity, so 100 proc weapons can act 4 times in one round. Absolutely nuts. Also, the burn and bleed are pretty powerful.

Fun fact: tomes count as 100 procs. So you can use tomes 4 times per round now too. That includes non-damage skills like recovering mp or shields. Turns out this was stealth mage support after all.

What a great start to the tier 1 class revamps! I'm excited for the rest.

That's kinda funny that tomes with the last skill, that may change if they want to prevent tomes from working alongside that skill depending if it's too much trouble that may or may not take up too much of their time . I wonder if it's because the skill registered them as 100 procs due to their backup 100 proc move, where they can attack in an event that spell options are disabled.

Overall I like the release.

Took a hiatus from AQ for a while — was pleasantly surprised to see this! The turnaround time is impressive, but I guess that makes sense given that T1 classes only have one-fourth of the skills of a T3 class.

I'm honestly a bit surprised this wasn't called "Ranger" since that's what Robina introduced herself as.

Just tried out the new Archer class and armors. Quite an interesting armor, huge boost to 100 proc weapons. I quite love it.
However, there's one thing I'd like to change: I want to be able to use the Prodigy's Bow with the Master Archer Armor as well.
This ability was available in the lvl 10 archer class armor, but it is unavailable for the Master Archer Armor, despite the fact you can see the bow still hanging there. It wouldn't be too much of an upgrade, as it the Prodigy Bow only gets the element, but not the effects of the weapon. However, it does allow us to use the Archer Class skills with weapons that aren't 100 proc, so it'd be pretty useful, since I think it's pretty hard to play with all 100 proc weapons, especially since the Awe weapons don't have a 100 proc version.

Have to agree on the animation - the Master Armor is an unexpected treat as it is, but with that it would definitely shine even in a world where Neko exists by virtue of FashionQuest.

I wasn't sure about trying out Archer when I've settled on my first and currently only character being a hybrid, but I decided to go for it anyways.

First thing I notice- I can't buy anything in the Archer Gear shop because I haven't bought the Orange Shieldcake package. Is it supposed to be like that?

I'll still go through the class because I'm sure I'll be able to get the Master Archer Armor, but I don't think it's a good idea to have a class hidden behind a 7500 Z Token package, especially not a Tier 1 class.
