Book 3: The Awakened Depths: Fate's Flow (Part 1)

Hey there, heroes!

The Greenguard Alliance, with their DragonLord and Dragonslayer allies, have fought their way to the center of the fungal Tytan of the Northlands. Your goal is in sight. A massive core of Darkness is held aloft by tendrils of fungal growth, and it's your heroic duty to take it down and put an end to this Tytanic threat!

[image]https://cms.battleon.com/DF/images/FATESFLOWpart1dn.png[/image]

But what happens next? Even if you're able to destroy the core, will you be able to escape? Will it even stop the Tytan?

You and your allies are a resourceful bunch. It'll be fine... Right?

Part 1 of The Awakened Depths finale: Fate's Flow has arrived!

Note: Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to solve the layering issue that can sometimes occur after a cache clear. We recommend entering the previous quest and leaving it before playing Fate's Flow (Part 1).

After some tough encounters, now got some that could be fought blind.
spoiler:

I always knew that the Earth Great Dragon was huge, but it's nice to see the scale of things. And Kord is still pessimistic as ever.

spoiler:

Rose faction got new guests in Hansa and Lestrade, it seems! Lestrade is fairly simple, standard double/triple warrior skills, plus nuke and booster.

Does anybody know what Hansa's skills are like? Even after playing the quest, I have to admit I'm left somewhat uncertain.

spoiler:

I think we've had Hansa as a guest before in Cinquefoil's Sandsea questline. I think she deals energy damage but that's all I can remember.

This is going to be one heck of a finale!

spoiler:

The Great One rises! There might be hope for Dragesvard after all, and it looks like Kord's perspective is about to get challenged in the most spectacular way possible. My only concern is how the Golden Hand will be able to reach the Rift and close it. It must be on the ocean floor, presumably near the bottom of Tyndur's Depths, but that's all we know. Although GenoKratos may be able to help with that too.

Edit: It just occurred to me that the issue with the Rift might've been brought up in the Golden Hand path's version of the dialogue. May have to check that later.

Hyped for next month!

She does do energy damage although I find it curious that her magic attacks are described as "dark energy" not to mention they are somewhat aesthetically similar to shadowhunter attacks though that possibly just a coincidence.

spoiler:

Kara still holding out hope for Jaania...wonder if that optimism will hold up once she sees the new "ally" Jaania made while we were away

It is nice to see that Lestrad is making an attempt to reach out to Kord to get him to see that he's being to rash in his thinking. Whether or not he succeeds though is little less clear given that Kord seems pretty set on his perspective and I'm not sure what his opinion is going to be after seeing a dragon literally speak through Galanoth like a puppet...also can Draco end up doing that to us one day? or is it only Genokratos and the other Great Elemental Dragons that can do this? I know Vilmor was also a speaker for Cryozen so is this something that happens between them as well?

I'm curious about who is left from the Golden Hand, in terms of their ranking, in the Magesteirium that is trying to contact Ostromir and Vseslava. Their ability to go out of their way to contact them would imply that there is on some level some potential remnant of authority for the people of the Shapeless Empire trying to maintain order or at least may be the frontrunner for making an attempt out of anyone left. Though I guess I'm more curious what information they relayed to Vselava given she didn't feel the immediate need to tell us what the deal was there.

I'm also becoming more convinced that this Tytan was created on the side of the Elements in the Exalted War or at the very least that it wasn't Exalted in origin given that it's core is described as a Symbiotic Darkness Elemental whereas the "core" in the Greenguard Whale Tytan was named Stardriver A-014-S a title that seems to have been more in line with how the Exalted would label/organize a lot of their tools or items. There's also the fact that that where the Stardriver acted as a chain for the Whale Tytan the Darkness elemental seemingly bonded with the mushroom tytan at its "roots" to keep it focused or to keep it from acting to frantically and I kind of doubt the Exalted would have risked an elemental piloting something like this. I'm also still of the opinion that this would have been a really effective tool in destabilizing Exalted territories.

Either way I cannot wait to see how this Titan battle goes down.

spoiler:

Well Kord is quickly approaching his breaking point...I'm curious to see how that ends. A betrayal of Galanoth and/or the rest team wouldn't surprise me at this point, but I'm excited to see where this goes. Also, rise of the Great Dragon? YES!
